Ok, I am officially stuck. I have googled and googled, lurked around yahoo answers and stalked this site and I’m still not getting this to work.

I’ve downloaded a very small amount of CC (mainly celebrity sims) from The Sims Exchange. Most are all from the same creator, and yet only a few of them will install. At first I thought maybe it was an error in a single file, but now it is obvious that it isn't; the files seem to work for everyone else.

At first I was running all expansions apart from Showtime and all packs apart from Master Suite and High-End Loft. I downloaded 5 sims and only one worked. They all say that they are installed, go grey and get the little install tile looking picture next to them in the installer but then when I start the game only one was there. When shutting down and starting again, only that one was installed, all the others had disappeared out of the installed tab but are still sitting in the downloads tab, waiting to be installed.

I patched the game, going to 1.29, then 1.31 then to 1.33 and that still didn’t fix it. I then uninstalled and started from scratch. Still not working.

Out of desperation I grabbed the other two packs and expansion pack, installed those and patched and still only that one sim is showing up. I tried downloading a few more sims from the exchange and once again, only the occasional one actually works. I’m about to try uninstalling again, but I loath the idea of another 3 hours of reinstalls being ahead of me.

Is there something that I am missing, or do you have any suggestions? Anyone seen this sort of issue before? Should just not apply any patches at all?
