I made a Sim and save game just after installation, then I defragmented my hard drive, installed custom content, and played again. My game is fully patched. I am getting this issue where the animations of the sims will run for a half second and then lag for a whole second, then run half a second, then lag a whole second. It seems to be happening at a fairly steady rate, and affects moving the camera around and other objects such as elevators and cars. I uninstalled CC, and the issue persists. I copied the current town, and the issue persists as well, even if I change the active household. I deleted my cache files and that did not fix the issue. Create-A-Sim does not have any errors, and new towns that I create don't either. I have not yet tried to create a new town in the same neighborhood (Bridgeport), but I created a new Twinbrook neighborhood and didn't have any issues. My thoughts are maybe I need to run the save game tool that J.M. Pescado made, that may force the computer to recreate all sims and lots. I would like to not lose the few hours of progress I have made in this game, if possible. Anyone else had this issue? Mandatory DxDiag...

Bridgeport is broken. A fix can be downloaded from ellacharm3d - I link to her profile page rather than the specific download, because you may also wish to download fixes for the other EA towns. You should also be using twallan's Overwatch mod, if you aren't already, particularly in city worlds like Bridgeport. Your computer isn't fantastic, and you're never going to have great performance out of it in TS3. But those two mods will improve things a lot.

Thanks whiterider for the response! I did a little investigating and noticed that there are some other possible fixes, such as using CFF explorer to allow the game to use more than 2GB. Will that work well in conjunction with ellacharm3d's mods and twallan's mod? |
