Hello everyone, first I am sooo sorry if there is answers to this already, but I have searched the forum, FAQ'a and Wiki, and could not find anything related to my problem.
Excuse me for the uploaded picture is in Danish, and my english isn't the best, but I hope you can help!

When I start The Sims 3, wich I just updated, this message came up:

(again, I'm sorry it's in Danish, I hope you know what it means)

I can then just click yes (Ja) to still showing scripts, then I can launch the game..
But I am not sure if thats why I have problem regarding the other issue..

I have recently bought and downloaded lots of ekstra stuff and was ready to put it into my downloads folder, but it does not excist. I dont know where to put it, and if I create a folder myself called "Downloads" The Sims 3 cant load the content, as if it havent excisted at all..

Thanks you in advance!
Sabi...

----
Oh I forgot, I'll try and translate the message above:

There was an error in the script on this page
Line: 960
Sign: 4
Error: 'document.getElementByld(...)' is zero or is not an object
Code: 0
URL: http://www.thesims3.com/launcher/patches/-1321973146

Do you want to continue showing scripts on this page?

[YES] [NO]

  • Sims 3 - Launcher and/or EADM Issues
If you encounter issues while downloading Store/Exchange items or when trying to patch or Launcher won't even start, please try the suggestions on these FAQ articles:

What patch is the base game on?
You are attempting to install Sims3Pack CC, but Launcher won't open? Is Origin installed? Try again after you've uninstalled Origin.
And you can bypass Launcher to start the game - Game Help:TS3 Bypassing the Launcherwiki.

And what default browser are you using? Internet Explorer? What version? http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001329.htm

I'm sorry, I dont know what you mean, patch? I am all new to Sims, it's my first time use, and I'm not running through Origin, I only use that for playing Mass Effect 3, but it's closed, and I use Chrome..

Thank you, I will try that!
I dont know what it's called, I just bought a HP Pavillion Entertainment PC DV7 of a friend, and he reinstalled it and I asked for Sims on it, and I got it in the price, so I'm a little on bare ground here.. Hehehe...

If you use Chrome, perhaps IE is outdated. Launcher uses IE, no matter what. While you're at it, make sure Java, Adobe Flash/Air are all updated.
You just got ownership of this laptop? Does it meet specs? Windows updates current? Launcher also uses MS Visual C++ Redistributable 2008. So that needs to be updated as well.

"You asked for Sims"? So he purchased and installed it for you? Or where did he get the game from?

What does that last statement mean? Uninstalled, so not interested to troubleshoot anymore?
If you still want to have Sims 3 on this laptop and want to play, I need to know the specs of the machine. Game Help:System Specswiki

And last but not least, please read the rules and policies of the Site. Thank you.

I dont know, he just put it on,, But I wouldnt be surprised if it's a cracked version..

My computer lives up to the specs allright, it's a 1.60 GHz Intel Core i7-720QM Processor, 6144MB DDR3 Ram, Nvidia GeForce GT 230M ( NB10P GE) discrete 1024MB..
I run alle the 3 edetions on Mass Effect perfectly on it...

I just bought the game, so now it's original for sure.. But I have no expansions now..

Thanks for the help..

And sorry for the many post, I didnt know I could edit, I just saw it!

With that processor, that laptop is not equipped to run Sims 3. Neither is the graphics. So, all in all, not good news. Sorry!
