Ive seen a lot of similar questions but still don't know the answer. I have 4 hard drives, a 1TB partitioned in C, D and E drives and another drive G. Have my Sims 2 on G drive but have some back up files on D and E. On G drive I have My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Camera, Downloads, Neighborhoods and all the rest..... but for some reason the program keeps going to D drive and finding my backups. I even renamed them Your Docs, Sims Two, and other similar names but it keeps using them. How does the main Sims game know where the Downloads and Neighborhood files are ??? Is there an .ini file somewhere that I could modify ? these files are over 20 Gigs, lot of copying to put on disk, don't want to delete them, don't know how to make D drive 'hidden'. HELP. |

As I recall, it looks in the registry to find where the main "My Documents" folder is kept. (The one that the computer goes to if you just click the "Documents" icon in the Start menu, etc.") Apparently your main Documents folder is considered to be on your D drive. I have no idea what you could edit to change that, other than moving your entire My Documents folder to the G drive. |

I already have a complete My Documents folder on G drive, that's the one I want it to use... When I messed up the wording on the back up info on D drive, it just goes to D drive and recreates the whole EA Game/The Sims 2/ folder with six neighborhoods and minimal info. How can I hide D drive ? |

OK, I gave up. Copied the complete My Documents Folder from G drive to D drive then changed some names on the one on G drive to use as back up. |

Changing the location of your My Documents folder is really easy. No need to give up. |

Feeling like a bit of a chat about creation or just... whatever (not necessarily sims)?
