Mkay, so I'm contemplating a new world and am looking at various worlds around the community for inspiration and am wondering why worlds here @ MTS have 12 rar files with a single Sims3pack file while the others I'm seeing only have 1 rar and 1 Sims3pack file.

What is the purpose of this? Pardon my ignorance but I haven't seen this method elsewhere as yet.

EDIT: If this has been answered please point me in that direction because I was not able to find anything on this.

Hey cameranutz2, the maximum size for archive uploads on MTS is 10MB, so any file larger than that must be split into parts. Those parts are then combined by the downloader to make one file, which can be installed.

The maximum file size is determined by the site administrators, and is implemented to reduce server load and maximise the site efficiency, and I daresay lots of other reasons which I've forgotten. As World files tend to be large, this is the reason why you see lots of worlds with many parts to the download.

Aha...I had a feeling it might be something like that but it didn't hurt to ask just in case.
