Hey dudes so I'm uh...stuck in China. My (5 day) Vacation came to an end and I have to admit I wasn't paying attention to the screen. I just assumed it would do it's thing and boom I'd be back in Sunset (village?). Anyways I came back and saw I was still in China and the time was running except my sim was gone. Nraas errortrap thing came and said that they found an error trap with my sim. Anyways I've no idea where my sim is now but the main problem is I can't get back to my original town! I go into Edit mode and try to click on Home but it just takes me to China again! I actually have no way of going back to my original town but I'm so sure that's where my sim is. I tried taking control of a chinese family and using the 'Return Home' option but that does nothing. I even disabled errortrap and still nothing. There must be some way of going back to the original town. Some override or something. It seems a bit stupid that the entire town just gets wiped from memory :/ Anyways I'm on Windows 7 and I've got the mods Nraas errortrap + Nraas overwatch Also I've got the expansions : World Adventures, Ambitions and Generation SOLVED Hey I just fixed this. I don't know if this is a sticky already but if not if someone keeps this solution up in the troubleshooting section. I got the solution from a website called 'terra-byte.org' I kinda redid the solution to make it work for me so this is what I did. I created a new game (same town was selected), made a random sim and moved him in. Saved the game UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME!! Don't save the game under the same name as your original!!! Then I quit the game. Went into my save files and BACKED UP my original saved game (might as well be extra safe). Then I copied over every file (EXCEPT for 1a5tf1l3.dat, meta.dat and TravelDB.package), into the new saved game folder. Started up The Sims 3 again and went into the new town and boom. There my sim was exactly as he was BEFORE I went to China. So yes you lose a little bit of data. But only the time spent on holiday. The idea is that every file except for those 3 files mentioned in your save folder contain your 'world data'. The other 3 files are apparently the problematic ones that tend to 'break' and cause yourself to be stuck somewhere like I was. Anyways for reference on where the save files are. I only know about my own OS (Windows 7). They're in your main My Documents folder under 'Electronic Arts/The Sims3/Saves'. The exact path is like C:/Users/*YOURUSERNAME*/My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves Anyhoo I hope this has been somewhat helpful to anyone with the same problem. I can't take any credit. The dude who had that solution up on terra-byte.org takes the credit for this one |

Just a bit of advice, get Twallan's Traveler & AwesomeMod, or enjoy your future bugs. |
