Something I have noticed about the in-game hair in TS3 is that almost all of them of them are really, really...white. I have a lot of Sims that are people of colour and most of the hairstyles that come with the game, and even the ones I've downloaded from here just look odd on a Sim with non-Caucasian features. I know that kinky-curly hair and micro braids are probably difficult to mesh, but I really want something that that looks like this and this for both genders and all ages. Any takers?

You seem to mean African-based minorities by "people of colour", so what you'd really like is the Africa collection in the store (great hairs!), and some random dread hairs in Sun, Surf and Sand one, otherwise I have no idea.

I have a Long Dread locks CC for male and female... Here's the link to the hair. It's long and falls past the shoulders.

The hair might be originally done by Nuok, I think, the name sounds familiar to me, although I have never encountered ts3 cc by Nuok directly...

I actually feel that this collection is just like when white people visit like, Jamaica or something and get those dreadlocks and kafkans while on a holiday... the set doesn't really offer much useful stuff for sims aimed to look like real life african-americans or africans. I mean, the only 'hairstyles' for dudes in that set are HATS. The short curly hair for women does look nice and realistic, but why the heck wasn't it enabled for dudes too? It looks like a very useful, versatile hair for many sims regardless what ethnicity and gender the sim is. All other items are just... yeah.

There are some TS2 to TS3 conversions of afros and dreads out there - many on the MTS site. My favorite conversion is the TS2 dreads for men (sexay!) There is a sim on the downloads part here named "Thandiwe" that has a link to a Nouk conversion I really like. Kittehbomb also makes some good Frohawks.

I wish I were skilled enough to do some Nouk conversions. She has some awesome black hair for TS2 and while many things have been converted, my favorites of hers - afro puffs and a few others are still TS2 only.

I think there is some problem with curly hair looking natural in TS3 for some reason. This is why you see lots of braids and dreads, but not many curls. To me, most of the tight curls I've seen look more helmet than hairlike. And unfortunately for EA, Jehri Curl is not going to make a comeback anytime soon. (But that's a good thing for real humans)

Most of mine are Store hair, and even then choice is stretched thin. As far as CC goes, Club Crimsyn has a really good one.

I've noticed it too and I find it pretty ridiculous that the only attempt EA makes to give more realistic hair for non-white sims is "give us *more* money for this ~totally exotic~ Africa set!"

Mmm, yes that collection. I quite like it, but of course I'm caucasian, so yeah, your mileage can wary. And also yeah, men's side is definitely underwhelming, but I don't expect cool content for men from EA. Also the clothes are "much" but this was about hair. I loved Nouk's hairs in TS2 too...those were good times.

I would have agreed with the OP a year ago, but now there are ALOT of custom hair for Africans and people of color. Kitty Klan has some VERY realistic hairs on her site, and so does Club Crisymn, you just have to search...Plus to be honest, EA is doing a better job at adding ethnic hairs too. I love the hairstyles that came with African store set.

Something I have noticed about the in-game hair in TS3 is that almost all of them of them are really, really...weird. At least for the guys. I have no opinions on women's hair styles.
