Hiya everyone!

A while back I had a corrupted neighbourhood, so I exported my sims appearances using Sim PE (I didn't clone them in Bodyshop as I got muddled) and started again.

I wanted to export them all again, in case of problems or if I want to upload them in the future.

So after lots of reading up on it, and a bit of messing around first, I followed the guidelines to the letter, and exported them, then made clones and packaged them.

However, my exported and cloned vampires went weird, their heads stayed blue, but their bodies went back to flesh colour. I wouldn't mind them being flesh colour or blue, I just want them to be the same colour all over. (I fiddled with them in Bodyshop and CAS but couldn't remove the blue heads).

The vampires I am playing with are the ones I exported without cloning, so they are blue all over, except one of my teen girls, her head is a different blue to the rest of her. I have tried Vamprocillin-D, and re-biting her, but the problem persists (although she does match when human, just not when vampire).

I can put up with her looking a bit crap as I'm not that attached to her (sorry Melon!), but I'm a bit worried that the vampires I exported and cloned will look like her when bitten (if I use them in the future, or upload them for other people), as currently they have blue heads and flesh coloured bodies.

A lot of my vampires are my favourite sims, so if something happened I want to be able to replace them perfectly.

I tried making her human and exporting and cloning her again, but my game crashed when I created and played with this new Melon. (So I deleted the package and replaced my game with an earlier save).

Has anyone got any ideas? Or have I missed something important?

A second problem I have is that I want to delete the old files (exported but not cloned), but I'm not sure how to do it safely or how to identify them. They look exactly the same as the new files in both Bodyshop and CAS.

I hope all this makes sense and that someone has some advice for me please

Thanks for reading! <3

I think at this point, it would be a good idea to clone them all again to clear any lingering game data that's clinging to them. What you could do is make a folder for your newly cloned sims, then when you've made them in Bodyshop, open your SavedSims folder (you can do this bit while BS is running, BTW), sort by Date Modified, copy the newly cloned sim and paste it in your new folder. You can then give it a sensible name. Once you're done, you can delete the old sims either in BS, or just from the SavedSims folder. I've been doing this recently with exported sims who's hair I deleted and it seems to work just fine.

Then once you've got your new clones, you could either make them again and hope vamping them works, or you could use AltSimSurgery to see if that fixes their appearance.

I gotta ask though, is it the entire head flashing blue, or is it teeth? Vampire teeth flashing blue is a known issue and I know Cyjon has got about three fixes for it. Could it also be conflicting default skins? Or maybe adding some new default skins might do the trick? Does sending them to the mirror to change appearance work at all? Perhaps see if they're wearing costume make-up - I had a teen who's head was a different colour to the rest of her and for ages I couldn't work out why, then I realised I'd exported her after a tan and the tan overlay was sticking on her face.

Vampires do have a special facemask which is applied when they become a vampire. And it does "get stuck" along with the fangs when you use the Sim Surgery export to bodyshop. (If you really want someone to be turned on by the Grand Vampire, vampires and facemasks will give two turn-ons. Then just make the turn off something like perfume, and you're all set. You don't need to find out which Grand Vampire is set to be active.)

What I usually do is to use the SimPE exported sim in Bodyshop to make a new sim, put the sim in different (recognizable) clothing, and then delete the original. Then I go back and work more on the clone to give it the proper appearance and clothing.

I am Ghost. My husband (who made the account because I was too shy) is sidneydoj. I post, he downloads, and I wanted to keep my post count.

Hiya thanks for answering.

sushigal007-Thanks for being so detailed. But the head isn't flashing blue, it's blue as in vampire skin. Going to the mirror doesn't work, neither does changing the skin in Bodyshop or CAS.

I might try the costume make-up thing though, I haven't tried that.

Please could you explain AltSimSurgery to me? I don't really know how to use Sim PE's other functions, I've only exported appearances up until now, and I did that by following tutorials.

Also if it's anything to do with University, I don't have that expansion pack so can't use the surgery career reward or anything. (I'm not planning to buy it either, as it doesn't appeal to me).

I will have a look at date modified, I might be able to identify them that way fingers crossed!

Ghost sdoj-Thanks, I didn't know that vampire skin counted as costume make-up. I never thought of doing that, I always shut BS down when other stuff's open, as mine won't work when Paint's open. I might try it.

Alt Sim Surgery is a SimPE plugin which allows you to clone a sim without being forced to have the original sim in your neighborhood:

Thanks Mootilda. I have had a look and a read.

It sounds a bit scary though!

Thanks for the link, it made it really easy to find

Hiya Thankyou all so much for the help! I have tried removing custom make-up and it worked! Yay! I have re-done the vampires and now feel reassured that I have them backed up properly!

I have also got rid of the old files so everything's a bit neater and less confusing!

Just have Melon to sort out now, removing custom make-up didn't work on her (in game), but I might make a new Melon and see if that one works as she is matching to start with. Failing that I might look for some nice chokers for her.

Mootilda-I'm so paranoid now I back up every 5 minutes! lol!

Thanks again!
