Old 6th May 2012, 11:34 PM DefaultOrigin installed Freetime in different directory... #1

Just wondering: I have several EPs that were digital downloads and have finally managed to get them to install through the evil Origin download manager. However, for some reason, it put Freetime in an Origin Games folder instead of the regular Program Files (x86)/EA Games folder with all the others. Moving the FT folder into EA Games, unsurprisingly, caused the game to put up an error (Freetime has been uninstalled, e.g.), so I stuck in back in the Origin Games folder. I have AL on DVD, so that installed in the proper directory with no problem. Should it be fine to leave Freetime where it is, so long as I remember to update any game files in that directory if I'm messing around with those (for clean neighborhoods or lighting mods, etc)? Or should I see if I can figure out how to install it in the EA Games folder somehow (in which case, I'd need to uninstall AL, then IKEA, then re-patch, etc)?

Origin, is there no end to your headaches??

Just leave it in the Origin Games folder and add your clean templates and other changes to the appropriate Origin Games or Program Files subfolders.

Thanks, Mootilda. Weird, but I'll leave it be!

That's the way that EA programmed it. Blame them for any weirdness.
