Alright, well, let me begin. I just got OFB, I installed it, and I put on my Custom Content. I always uninstall and re-install when putting in a new EP, I do not know why, actually. Anyway, so, I was pretty excited, but then something happened when I installed it. A little window popped up and said: "Sorry this can't run with this version, try putting in the Sims 2 Game again" (A Little Reminder I do own Double Deluxe. And it was weird that I got that pop up.) And this is the hacks I have: Lizz Love: No Jealously At All TwoJeffs: Preg For All Genders, Same Sex Marriage, Baby Want Fix, and Have Baby Not Adopt. Now I put the Custom Content back on AFTER I had installed every single game, and I even enabled them. Then all hell broke loose. At Dina and Nina's house, the mail would come on Thursday, but there would be no mail. The mail man was like putting mail IN the mailbox, and not flipping up the flag. Then at my playable Sim house. The Penguin was there in the Fall, and moon walked backwards off the lot, THEN one day after school. Sara teleported next to the house after getting off the bus, and had no homework, nor any some sort of report card. So, my easy solution, uninstall everything. One more thing, I do use "boolprop" BUT I always turn it off, and this is the first time, that everything went on a frenzy. And YES, I did back-up my files, and everything but still went on a fire frenzy of evilness! And it saddens me, because if it is OFB, then I will have to live without it. So that this is my question: Is it OFB or the Custom Content or a mixture of both? Because I am telling you, I didn't have this problem until OFB was installed. |

Then why when I downloaded OFB, I got that message? |

Just to be clear: reinstalling everything is rarely the correct solution to a problem. It's generally the last step that we recommend; something that you do only after you have exhausted all of the other possibilities. Which DVD have you been using to run the game? Did that change after you installed OFB? Which DVD did you have in the drive when you received the error message? Did you install the Store Edition that came with Double Deluxe? Do you have any other collection packs? Have you patched all of your games? I agree with whiterider that it's very unlikely that your problem is OFB. Many of us have OFB installed and no one else is having these problems. |

I had OFB in the DVD/CD drive. I am doing all of this on my laptop. And I do have another Collection that is Fun With Pets Collection, I download that last, because due to the fact it has Mansion and Gardens. And I don't recall Store Edition with the Double Deluxe, because with every one with "Store Edition" it is an option to have on the game. At least that is what is given to me on Fun With Pets. And I do not change the DVD thing. EDIT: it says when I download it: "You are running the wrong version of The Sims 2. Please try running The Sims 2 Double Deluxe instead." And when patching lets OFB or FT, I get the message: "There is a later expansion pack installed, you may need to patch the later expansion pack" |

So, the error message was probably because you need to run from the Double Deluxe disk, but you had the OFB disk in your disk drive. The patching error is a bit odd. You should be allowed to patch any of your EPs at any time. Ah well, if you end up reinstalling everything again, you'll know to patch as you go. |

I have been patching as I go. But I keep getting that message, I am not sure why, either. Maybe it is because Double Deluxe is a later version...*sighs* |

I suppose so. Those collection packs sure do have their problems. Have you had any luck finding the problem by doing the game problem FAQ? |

Is there a possibility that I needed to have a disc in then patch it? |

I don't remember that being a requirement. I suppose that there's no harm in trying, though. |

The reason I had asked is because when I had the disc in it didn't say that message. O.o |
