Hello ![]() I just got a new computer and installed all of the expansion packs and all of the extra packs on the new one, and I have transfered my saved games and downloads from the old computer - where I had no problems what so ever with the game. Now the game works as it should and I can load every family except one. This family just keeps staying at the loading screen. However, this family is part of a challenge I'm playing, so I would really like to fix the problem. I've already tried removing my downloads, deleting the cache files and so on. Is there anything I can do that might help, or is the family just bugged and unable to be saved? |

Did you patch all the EPs during installation? |

Can you move them out? |

Och, I might be able to, but there is gravestones and such on the lot that would be lost that way. Would there be any way to restore gravestones? |

Your best bet is probably to move the gravestones to a community lot before you move your family out. |

Ah, that's a problem. Hmm. Hang on, there's a tutorial I know of for respawning tombstones: http://pixel-trade.livejournal.com/26093.html. That should do the trick.

Respawning tombstones will only work if the character data has not been shredded by the deletion of the lot. It's far safer to move the tombstones, then delete the lot. |

But according to the original post, they can't load the lot, so they can't get into the lot in order to do anything with the tombstones. Would Pescado's mod for no unlink on deletion help here? |

If repawning the graves is a no-no, I guess you could load another family, use something like the Sim Blender to teleport the borked family over, have them move in and then move them out of that house. I'm guessing that would leave the borked house as it was, with the graves unsold, but I'm not at all certain about that. |

Sorry, I missed / forgot that the lot cannot be entered. Yes, I suppose that it would make sense to see whether another family can spawn the tombstone on their home lot before the lot is deleted. There should be no harm in trying that. |

Okay - It seems to work now. I got into another family, got the bugged family to move in and then moved them out and into the same house as before. The gravestone and he plants are still there, which is wonderful. So the only things lost is the home business, the genie lamp and the witch tools. But hey, the family seems to work now, so thanks! |
