Okay, I believe I have the building of my house figured out, at least the building of the stairs isn't the cause for the delay in my building anymore, but I do have a question. How tall is the brick foundation? That is to say, how many clicks does it take to make the land even with the brick foundation when building up? I get this, and I can finish my house!

Okay, one more quick question just to see if I'm thinking about this correctly. I need my house on a foundation, so I was going to raise the first landing to 8 clicks (four above the foundation) and the second landing to 12 clicks) . Here's the tut I'm using for reference. http://www.blackpearlsims.com/showt...-against-a-wall

PS. I need a foundation because I'm putting in a basement.

Just one problem... I can't seem to find a question in your post.

I mean, can I build a house on a foundation, and then raise the land 8-12 clicks for the stairs to work?

I assume you mean you're following that tutorial, except instead of building it on the ground, you're building it on a foundation and are wondering if the tutorial will still work?

Yes, basically. LOL The house I'm building is from a floor plan, (http://www.modthesims.info/m/showthread.php?t=476498 ) and it has the house on a foundation, so I was wondering how exactly to go about doing that... if my math was right or not, to have the first landing at 8 clicks, and the second at 12, or what it should be at if my math is wrong. I really am terrible with numbers, LOL. Really its been that u shaped stair on the floor plan that's been holding everything up.

I think the constrain floor elevation might be what you want to use to get this to work, but I cant really think much past that, I just got done playing with meshes and stuff so i'm out of it.
I know the OFB foundation is 4 clicks, so foundation+stage is 8 clicks. I dont...do you think that helps? I dont know whats going on...

You may have to modify the U stairs to better suit the game. Looking at the floor plans, the first "landing" from the first floor is only a step up. The second landing is a few steps above that. If it were me, I'd skip the first landing and use a stage to step up to the second landing, then from there you can step up to the second floor. The stairs are more of an L shape at that point, but the point of getting up to the second floor in that tight space is accomplished.

I have a house were is seems as if the second floor consists of only a stage, which works as a landing for the stairs and then up to another floor, but only a few steps up. The house is technically two stories, but the stage on what should be the second floor level, makes the actual second floor act like a third floor (I have to click the floor button twice to get to the second floor). I didn't build the house, (I got it from here, I think it's the Victorianna... or something Victorian) so I don't know how this was accomplished, but if you can figure out how, then that might be another alternative for you to explore.

I don't think you can stack stages on top of each other, which is a shame. Someone should look into making/hacking stackable stages for just such a problem as this (unless someone has already done it, then we just need to know where to find it).

I don't really mind an UN-modified stair, but I'm working with a room that's four wide instead of three.

You can place a latice foundation on top of a foundation by pressing shift. But I don't think you can wallpaper latice so it would need to be hidden. The upper foundation would be 16 clicks high so it will need to be lowered by placing a 1x1 foundation away from the building with a wall on top. Lower this 12 clicks so it's 8 clicks above the ground (8=two foundations). Place a floor tile on top and drag it across the landing. Do the same method for the second landing or use a stage.

Here is the original way to make landings for a staircase inside a house. You only need cfe if you want the walls along the staircase. It shows you a bit of the math involved.
