I have all expansion packs and stuff packs for The Sims 2. Everytime I click the launcher's play button it's not playing. Is there another way to start my game instead of using the launcher? I even went into the base game's bin through my hard drive and tried to play from there, it still didn't play. I also had shut down my computer, took out my disk and left the drive open for my computer and my disk to cool down and tried playing my game again and it still isn't playing. Any suggestions?

Could you explain exactly what happens when you try to play? Do you see the splash screen? Does the main game screen come up at all? Can you see the Sims2<EP>.exe in your task manager?

I don't see it in my task manager, and the thing that happens is it doesn't come up at all when I click play in the launcher. The game pretends to load and my disk drive runs for a few seconds then stops running and doesn't play the game at all.

Usually when game does not work it is my cache files. I get rid of group cache and all is well. Idk if that is your case or you have poor graphics in your PC to which you need to get good graphic card if that. But try cache first. Here more: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...ete_Cache_Files

Rather than trying to run the base game's EXE, you should be running the same EXE as your launcher. You can determine the installation folder by looking at the launcher shortcut properties. Go to that folder and run the game exe from there.

You should probably also give us your system specs:

Has the game ever worked on your computer?
