Hello and Thank you My problem has to do with saving the game. It will go on and on as if it is saving and I always end up stopping it by ctrl+alt+del. I have almost all Sims 3 expanses and stuff up to and including SIMS 3 PETS. System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 6/3/2012, 11:49:11 Machine name: STELA Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.120411-1615) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: System manufacturer System Model: System Product Name BIOS: BIOS Date: 08/25/09 21:15:57 Ver: 08.00.15 Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs) Memory: 3062MB RAM Page File: 603MB used, 4376MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode Display Devices --------------- Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce GTS 250 DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0615&SUBSYS_83051043&REV_A2 Display Memory: 1024.0 MB Current Mode: 1600 x 1024 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor Monitor Max Res: 1600,1200 Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll Driver Version: 6.14.0012.6099 (English) DDI Version: 9 (or higher) Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Date/Size: 10/16/2010 14:55:00, 6359552 bytes Sound Devices ------------- Description: Logitech Z305 Default Sound Playback: Yes Default Voice Playback: Yes Hardware ID: USB\Vid_046d&Pid_0a23&Rev_0100&MI_00 Manufacturer ID: 65535 Product ID: 65535 Type: WDM Driver Name: usbaudio.sys Driver Version: 5.01.2600.5512 (English) Driver Attributes: Final Retail WHQL Logo'd: Yes Date and Size: 4/14/2008 00:15:14, 60032 bytes Disk & DVD/CD-ROM Drives ------------------------ Drive: C: Free Space: 308.6 GB Total Space: 476.9 GB File System: NTFS Model: WDC WD5000AAKS-00V1A0 Drive: D: Model: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50 SCSI CdRom Device STEPS I’ve took: 1. Fixed all CC for Pets 2. Checked all CC if corrupted. Found some and deleted 3. Change the Windows XP default if 2G to: 3GB/userva+ 2560 4. Made huge packages ( 50 small packages merged into a big one) using S3PE 5. I have 5.6GB of these huge packages 6. I have 446MB of Sims3.packs – mostly counters and patterns (could not compress them in huge packages) QUESTION: I remember that on SIMS 2, in order for the game to run better I had to remove from Windows Task Manager (tab Processes) almost all the Image Names but tasmgr.exe and some other one I can not remember of. Can I do the same for SIMS 3? And if Yes what are the must keep ones. Please accept my apology if I am out of line in any way. And also please be kind and not too technical I am not that knowledgeable in how computer runs and not computer savvy at all. I am 64 years old lady who loves building Sims houses. Thank you in advance for your effort and time to bring back to me the pleasure of playing SIMS. Aletszamrub |

Well, since you're using 32-bit Windows XP, saving is always going to be slow - so you might just need to be a bit more patient. If you're convinced that it's just not saving at all, then go through the Game Help:Sims 3 Game Problemwiki FAQ, as that will help identify (or rule out) all the usual suspects which can cause problems like this. If that doesn't work, let us know exactly what you did and what happened at each step.
