Here is my entry for Claire & Danny. The three rooms that I chose are: Art Studio/Music Basement/Living Area. I posted pictures of the outside which has the spa. (Also there is a computer in the study,
Also there is an "Ipad" on the coffee table in the living room (see second picture of Living Area).

Back Yard:

Birdseye Views (the study with computer is off the masterbedroom):

Basement Music/Party Room: I liked this room and thought it was perfect for a party animal who liked to entertain. It has a full bar with music instruments, dance floor & seating.

Art studio: This room has cathedral ceilings and large windows to let in lots of light.

Living Area: This lovely area is semi-open with lots of stone and dark browns, grey walls & black accents. The double sided fireplace is shared with the dining room. This area looks out to the back spa area/patio/outdoor kitchen.

Entries need to be posted in this main thread, not PMed to the host and judged as all the other rounds were, with the same judges and with scores posted openly out of fairness for all contestants.

Contestants who still need to get entries in, please do so in the next 5 hours. That is 10:30PM PST. Lovelydia will be using a timer for the rest of the entries so we should not have a similar mix up again.

Sorry I've been late...Real life has gotten in the way majorly, and not in a good way. And I've been having some major gaming and photoshop problems, so this round's entry kinda sucks. Hope I've made it in in time.

Floor 2

Floor 1

Living Room

I love this room because of the open space and small stereo along with the seating and large TV...Right next to the kitchen, it's great for sports parties.

Outside Patio

Definitely my second favorite because of the DJ set up for dancing, the modern sauna tucked in the corner, a contemporary grill for barbecue and a dining area for dinner.

Studio

The studio has a table for their craft projects and a canvas where they can paint, but also a mannequin to display dress designs and such. Although a small area, they spend a big chunk of time here.

Seems like I'm the first one...

Well anyway, I build Alice a cottage in Hidden springs. I wanted to create a euphoria kind of feel so I build a river with a waterfall, and surrounded it with plants and trees to indicate she's surrounded by the glories of nature. The house is quite small, as she's only 19 and I doubt she has a sugar daddy who pays for stuff, so the bedroom is above the kitchen and it's open enabling her to look down upon the living area. There is a large storage area under the stair case as I tried to use the space as much as possible.

Colours: I tried to stick to a colourful palette with lime greens and pastel pinks. Here is a scheme I created including the hex codes for the colours I used the most

Traits (click the spoiler for the explanation, I wrote quite a lot):

Requirements:
There are two bookcases in the house, one in the dining area and one in her bedroom
The bathtub is located in the bathroom.

Exterior:

Living:

Dining:

Kitchen:

Bathroom:

Bedroom:

Garden:

Floor plan:

Is seriously everyone going to wait until the last day to post their entries?

EDIT: well, it seems like my post is the only one without an excuse

Here is my entry for Alice Rosaline. The three rooms that I chose are: Study(library)/Ballet Studio/Living Room.

Outdoors (Yard, Garden, Sun Room/porch):

Study/Library: Perfect for a bookworm. Great place to read and snuggle on the built in window seat.

Ballet studio: Every aspiring ballerina needs a room to practice her art!

Living Area: This is wonderful place to put your feet up after a long day of dance.

Pictures of the rest of the cottage (bathtubs!):

Ok, here's my entry. (: I hope I'm not too late, there was a thunderstorm last night so I had to wait until this morning to post so that I wouldn't fry my computer or anything. Since today should be the 29th over there, I figured I would still be good...I hope so!

I decided this morning to move the whole lot to a custom world too to give it a more scenic look. :3 The whole house is inspired both by a really old house down the road from my neighborhood and a painting I used to have as my desktop background... there is one bedroom, one bathroom, and two floors.

Front of house / bird's eye views:

And my three favorite rooms!

I forgot my game disc at my other house, which is 45 minutes away. I'm going to go back soon to get it, but my entry may be up late late tonight/early tomorrow morning, I just haven't taken pictures yet.

Edit: Round 2

For round 2 I built a newer cottage on a large lot with a barn & greenhouse for all of Alice's prized plants and animals. Inside the house is one large bedroom with a dance studio off of it, and a large bathroom. The home is surrounded with probably the most landscaping I've ever done for one house.

Enjoy!

PM me with a request!

Hey guys, I know I'm past the due date, so if it's too late I understand. I'm so sorry to everyone for being late, I had an out-of-town emergency over the past week so I haven't been around my computer. My entry was almost finished before I had to leave, I just had to CASt some stuff and fill in bushes and trees this morning.

Here's my entry:

Round Two: Alice

This round was really fun because I'm actually a professional ballet dancer in real life, so it was great to have that in mind when creating the house for this sim. I remember when I first moved away from home at sixteen to go to a better ballet school for my own training. Granted, I didn't move into a cottage and I'm a guy who six years later lives in a modern apartment downtown, so it really isn't very similar to my house, haha.

It's a one bed, one bath older Victorian-style cottage. The pics make it look big but it's really not, only $24k unfurnished, and about $8k of that is the greenhouse and plants.

I also tried to keep things looking a little run-down, more eclectic, like maybe she found most of it at an awesome thrift store somewhere in town, then refinished it herself. Dancers don't make very much money, especially young dancers still in training.

Checklist:
Bathtub: In the bathroom.
Bookshelf: There's a bookshelf at the top of the stairs in the bedroom.

Colors: I kept most of the furniture wood as a worn white paint, pretty shabby chic but still fits in with the elegant vintage look. I kept the fabric colors to pastels, namely pale yellow, pink, and blue, in keeping with the shabby chic look.

Traits: Good choice on these, btw, I know quite a few ballerinas with these traits.
Eco-Friendly: Recycling bins, bicycle out front. When I lived in San Francisco, we rode our bikes to the ballet studio every morning!
Animal Lover: There's a whole kitty corner in the living room, and a cat calendar mixed in among the collage on the stairwell wall. I know it wasn't specifically Cat Lover, but most of my ballet friends with pets have cats.
Bookworm: There's a bookshelf at the top of the stairs, but also books in the built-in shelves under the stairs, lying on the trunk at the foot of the bed, etc.
Friendly: I tried to keep the colors upbeat, I could definitely see a group of ballerinas getting together for coffee (or shots! Us dancers are Party Animals too! ). I also put a lot of framed pictures around, showing that she has lots of friends and does lots of fun things with them.
Green Thumb: The outside is landscaped beautifully, she has a little pond with an arched bridge over it, and a whole Victorian-esque greenhouse, with a functioning garden on one side and then lots of decor plants on the other, to make it look as though she's growing flowers and exotic plants in the greenhouse too. Plus there's some fruit-bearing trees along the path outside the greenhouse, those are plants more natural to the area, thereby not requiring greenhouse nurturing.

Inside the Greenhouse:

Thanks guys, I'm sorry I was late!

Sorry I'm late! Working around a cracked screen is a problem!

With this one I had to construct a little story in my head; I mean, she's a 19 year old student, how could she have a house? Well, luckily for her she has an uncle with a farm, and in the grounds is an old workman's cottage. Sure, noone has lived in it since the 70s and it's somewhat backward and it's tiny, but it's her own place. Mother doesn't approve, though she says to count your blessings that the previous tenants put in a bathroom. But Alice loves it. Well, in theory - sometimes in winter when she's stoking the stove she's not so sure. but all her friends live in boring Ikea boxes, whereas her place is full of cool junk-shop finds (well, apart from the Billy bookcases, but a girl can be weak sometimes!) She presuaded Dad to re-wallpapaer some bits, and she painted others but some of the old decor has had to stay. But she couldn't keep her cat in a normal rented house!

Has a bathtub, bookcases, nice garden for her to work on with a greenhouse. She's got her compost bin, bike and lady-bugs to save the planet, plus think of the food-miles that garden will save (plus her food burner and stove burn wood, carbon neutral naturally!)
