Hi, I have this amazing knight statue for in my house, but it's way too big. I already know how to export a MODEL file, decompile it, how to import it into MilkShape 3D, how to export it back, recompile it, edit the package with the package editor, save it again and renumber with the object cloner. I scaled the object down in MilkShape 3D, I export it back into the game, the object shows up but the scale hasn't changed at all? How is this possible? So: How do i scale down objects in Milkshape so that it shows up in The Sims 3 with the scale I edited it to? Greetings Bob |

Sorry, I figured it out already. I had to scale all three MLOD files as well, not only the MODEL file

you should not scale down the Mlod of the shadow, if there is one. |

What happens if you do scale down the shadow, Bloomsbase? |

shadows are all stuffed(scaled) into a 2x2x2 box: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=455442 |

After reading the tutorial, methinks that the shadow mesh will break (distort) if it is just scaled down. Is methinking correct? |

yes, you are correct. you need to change the posoffset after creating the shadow meshes(in the shadow Mlods). TSRW does this automaticlt when importing either a reference mesh or shadow mesh. It trial and error when trying to do this with s3PE's GRID, but possible. There are no automated tools yet for s3PE. |

Oh, I'm glad that TSRW changes the posoffset automagically. Thanks, and thanks for writing that tutorial! I hadn't seen it, and when I did a MTS and a google search, it didn't come up for some reason. I can now fix a mesh with a custom shadow (I hope). |
