I've been reading through all of the game help pages to try to fix the constant freezing that has been occurring. I'm up to the point where I have created a back up of my user files and tried running the game with all new ones. It runs smoothly, but I can't help but notice that these freezes began (on both a Mac and PC) after I had been playing with a family for maybe 30-40 days. So even if I do figure out the corrupted user file, or choose to go ahead with a clean slate- won't the problem most likely occur again? Second question, to go through and actually discover the issue: it is recommended that I replace every single file, one at a time, that is in my "sims 3 back up" folder? Just wondering because it seems like it would take a long time, but I guess if that'd be what it takes, that's what it takes. (BTW: I have never had any mods or CC, not even EA created cc. The PC I am currently using is BRAND NEW and far surpasses all of the minimum game requirements. I'm pretty disgusted with EA, as I know a lot of people are at this point.) Thanks |

So haven't tried the suggestions in that FAQ? Which is stickied, by the way. If you don't have Overwatch, that explains why the freezes and lags keep recurring. And what world is this happening in? All of them (if you have the EPs, that is)? |
