I have done many different playthroughs with the sims using multiple expansions, different towns and many different ways to evolve a family. However i have noticed that after a while of playing there is always a different bug that will crop up at somepoint and it will stick for good. Below are a list of bugs that have happened to me in the past. Post some of yours and see if you get the same.

- A character somehow gets locked in sneak mode, and will sneak for everything, even if late for work/school.

- Character is locked in a sitting up position even when asleep

- an object cannot be moved, deleted or sold because a visitor who came round the house used it a while ago, and now the game claims the object is in use by that person.

- using the camcorder or camera gets permenantly locked in 3rd person view

- a visitor/party guest gets stuck at your house and cannot leave. They will constantly remind you that they are hungry or need the toilet, but they won't die, nor are you able to interact with them.

There are a few others that i have experineced over the last few years but i can't remember them off the top of my head

"Resetsim [name of sim]" and "moveobjects on" would be of great benefit to you

Even so, these are persistent bugs and he'll have to use those cheats a lot. It is also not guaranteed to work for all of the bugs he encounters.

Archamedes, I haven't encountered any of those bugs. In fact, I don't encounter many bugs at all. I will suggest you look into getting either Awesome mod or Twallan's mods or getting both.

I seem to remember running across a mod that helps when sims get "locked" into a certain walk mode, like sneaking. I'll try to find it.

oooh the reset sim and move object cheat, how do i activate that? does it involve a button (cant remember) that brings up the console display? if so i may have to test it

You press down the shift key and the control key and the c key. when a box opens up at the top of your screen, you type in "moveobjects on" without the inverted commas, and then press the return button. same for "resetsim Name Name".

But sometimes moveobjects on will not work for objects that think they are in use. In that case, if you have twallan's MC, you can shift/click on the object and you will get the option to delete it. I use this for the dolls that turn into imaginary friends when my toddlers age into children. I also use it for burglars, if I don't feel like coping with them. (wish you could do this in real life)

That is a function of "testingcheatsenabled on" actually, one does not require mods for such.

okay I have managed to fix sims locked in walks or who just wont go, however I am having problems with the pianos. Whenever they get used for a short time the object locks up and you cant click on it or do anything with it. The move object cheat only works if you plan on deleting it, but I don't want to delete it so whats going on here? This happens with both keyboard and grand piano. all I get is "cannot interact/move while sim is using this object."

As of July 16th, this mod is now compatible with 1.36
