Does anyone know how to build dorms? I tried building an apartment style one, but you can't. Dorms are listed as special buildings.

There is a cheat you can use to convert the buildin to a dorm:

changelotzoning dorm

There is a space betw the *g* in zoning and dorm. You can replace dorm with

residential
community
greek

depending on what you want the building to be.

don't forget, in dorms, each person has a room to themselves, and that you have to use the "Myne door" to specify each room. there are also special counters and stoves used to spawn Cafeteria NPCs. You may also want to use the Gender-specific bathroom doors. Otherwise, have fun. (and to think I was hex editing lot files to do this for the first day, then I noticed the cheat...)

See that never worked for me. I kept getting an error menu. I had to end up using this: boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled false. I had to change an existing dorm into what I liked. Although the dorm works great it was a pain in the toosh to have to delete everything wall by wall.

Hmmm, I used this cheat to make a residential into a greek and I had no problem other then getting a greek charter and then finding members!

Maybe it has to be all caps. Who knows. I have the same prob with the highest level cheat. It worked on one dorm (I posted the PIC). It will not work on the sister dorm!

The boolProp cheat is really just to use build mode for dorms. At least that's what I thuoght. It is also tempermental but eventually works if you cap and lower spelling properly.

ok I just tried "changelotzoning greek" and I didn't get an error this time. Maybe I mistyped it before of had capitals where I should of had lower case. Anyways I am going to see if I can make a new greek house with members.

Works like a charm. I have joined the Greek Da Amore Greek House. (I couldn't think of what to call it) I guess the maxis one isn't 100% correct.

My Simmette was met by the Greek Sims. Once they were accepted (Which didn't take long as there were 2 siblings and a boyfriend of the sim already a member) The Sims all came running and screaming :P
