The Divergent Challenge
This challenge is based on the book 'Divergent' by Veronica Roth, but you don't have to have read it to enjoy this gameplay. Basically, society is separated into five factions, each centered around one virtue - Abnegation (selfless), Dauntless (brave), Erudite (intelligent), Candor (honesty) and Amity (peace).
This is my first challenge and I don't have a real scoring system for it. The challenge mostly lies in seeing how this alternate society works out for you. If you want, you can 'win' when you have eight Sims in each faction and each of them have passed initiation.

First off, create five different households that represent the five factions. Each household should have five Sims that follow their factions guidelines listed below. Move the households into five different lots, preferably beside each other, and build houses that follow the faction guidelines. You should have no Free Will and turn off Story Progression. Only money cheats and freerealestate are allowed. No mood/motive altering cheats.
All Children and Teens are homeschooled (delete your neighborhood's school, or change it to No Visitors Allowed, OR enroll them in home schooling if you have a mod) and will spend their days building skills relevant to their faction. Adoption is allowed, as long as you raise the Child to value their faction.
When a Teen becomes a Young Adult they must choose the faction they will serve in for the rest of their lives. Their choice between the five factions is based on their traits. If they have three or more traits listed in one of the factions, they must join that faction. If the Sim doesn't have three traits that belong to one faction by the time they are a Young Adult, they are Divergent, and they can choose any faction they want (try rolling a dice or choosing based on the existing population). If they choose to abandon the faction they were raised in, they must cut off all ties with their past faction-mates, including all family members and immediately move into their new faction.
You must immediately dress the Young Adults in purple.
After choosing their faction, they must pass an initiation test in their first week of young adulthood, which involves learning a certain amount of relevant skills (this is where remaining in the faction you were raised in comes in handy).
To pass initiation, your Sim must have ten skill points in the skills appropriate for their faction within five days. For instance, they can master one single skill, or gain five points in two skills, or three points in two skills and four in a third skill, and so on and so on.
If they fail, or decide they made a mistake in choosing their faction, they will be kicked out and become faction-less and forgotten. A Sim might also become factionless if they break the rules of their faction.
If they succeed, they must immediately change out of their purple outfit and into an outfit appropriate for their faction, choose a job appropriate for their faction and work on building a life revolving around their faction's values.

The 5 Factions:

ABNEGATION (The Selfless)
Abnegation values complete selflessness. You must always put others before yourself and give up luxuries and vanities in order to become as generous as possible.

Rules:
Sims in Abnegation must wear all gray clothing, as plain as possible. No jewelry is allowed, except for one plain watch with a gray strap. Male Sims must keep their hair short and Female Sims must wear their hair in a bun or ponytail. No unnatural hair colors. No tattoos, makeup or facial hair allowed.
You can build separate houses for your Abnegation families on one lot, but they all must be as plain as possible, with cheap furniture. Televisions, computers and the use of cellphones are not allowed (turn them on silent). No mirrors, either.
Sims must NOT indulge in the Day Spa or the Theater, or go see concerts/games at the Stadium.
Sims must never create enemies with fellow Abnegation. Public displays of affection are forbidden and kissing/WooHoo are only allowed after marriage.
There is a priority on these skills: Fishing and Gardening. Homeschooled Children and Teens should begin working on these skills, if possible, on the weekdays. On the weekends they must help around the house or with babies and toddlers. If there is no work for them to do, they can do as they please, as long as their recreational activities involve more than one person. For example, doll houses are a no-go but frisbees or table tennis are A-Okay.
Once your Young Adult Sims pass initiation, they can get a career in any of these (depending on your EPs): Business, Grocery Store Clerk, Angler or Gardener.
Ideal traits for Abnegation are: Can't Stand Art, Green Thumb, Neat, Never Nude, Shy, Loner, Angler, Eco Friendly, Family Oriented, Frugal, Technophobe and Vegetarian. Three of these traits are necessary to join Abnegation, unless a Sim is Divergent.

DAUNTLESS (The Brave)
Dauntless values brawn and bravery. They are the protectors of all five factions and go out of their way to prove their bravery.

Rules:
Sims in Dauntless must wear all black clothing, suitable for an active and athletic lifestyle. Jewelry, tattoos and unnatural hair colors are allowed and strongly encouraged, but no makeup is allowed.
The Dauntless must all live in one building, but can have different rooms, and must be on the top floor. There must be a room with exercise equipment. The lot should be bordered with water, like a moat.
There is a priority on these skills: Handiness, Athletics, Martial Arts, Riding, Street Art, Mixology and Gambling. Homeschooled Children and Teens should begin working on these skills, if possible, on the weekdays. On the weekends they can do as they wish.
Once your Young Adult Sims pass initiation, they can get a career in any of these (depending on your EPs): Law Enforcement, Military, Professional Sports, Firefighter, Ghost Hunter, Lifeguard, Mausoleum Clerk, Mixologist and Horseman.
Ideal traits for Dauntless are: Handy, Athletic, Brave, Adventurous, Daredevil, Hot Headed, Loves the Outdoors and Rebellious. Three of these traits are necessary to join Dauntless, unless a Sim is Divergent.

ERUDITE (The Intelligent)
Erudite values scholarly learning and the progression of technology within society. They are the inventors and pioneers of science in their society.
Rules:

Sims in Erudite must wear a pair of glasses (they don't have sight issues, they just want to look smart). They must wear at least one item of blue clothing in every outfit, with otherwise neutral colors. Unnatural hair colors, tattoos, makeup and jewelry are allowed, but not necessarily encouraged. Try to look smart.
The Erudite may live in separate buildings on one lot, but there must be a library/common room type area for skill building, and a computer room. Lots of expensive technology is encouraged. No pets are allowed, as they are not seen as a logical addition to a household.
There is a priority on these skills: Logic, Inventing, Alchemy and Science. Homeschooled Children and Teens should begin working on these skills, if possible, on the weekdays. On the weekends they can do as they wish.
Once your Young Adult Sims pass initiation, they can get a career in any of these (depending on your EPs): Medical, Science, Architectural Design, Education, Bookstore Clerk, Alchemist and Inventor.
Ideal traits for Erudite are: Bookworm, Computer Whiz, Eccentric, Genius, Snob, Ambitious and Workaholic. Three of these traits are necessary to join Erudite, unless a Sim is Divergent.

CANDOR (The Honest)
Candor values honesty above all else. They strive to reveal exploitation and scandal, and hope for a world where information is free to the public.

Rules:
Sims in Candor must wear only black and white. Adult Males must wear a black suit and white tie. No tattoos, makeup, jewelry, facial hair or unnatural hair colors allowed.
The Candor must all live in one building - after all, they have nothing to hide. Families can have their own rooms/lofts, but there must be on communal bathroom. Pets are allowed.
There is a priority on these skills: Writing, Photography and Social Networking. Homeschooled Children and Teens should begin working on these skills, if possible, on the weekdays. On the weekends they can do as they wish.
Once your Young Adult Sims pass initiation, they can get a career in any of these (depending on your EPs): Journalism, Political, Investigator, Day Spa Receptionist, Photographer and Writer.
Ideal traits for Candor are: Perceptive, Bookworm, Photographer's Eye, No Sense of Humor and Perfectionist. Three of these traits are necessary to join Candor, unless a Sim is Divergent.

AMITY (The Peaceful)
Amity values peace and kindness and remains neutral in all conflicts. Amity is the home of the dreamers, the artists and the fun-lovers.

Rules:
Sims in Amity dress primarily in red and yellow, in clothes that look comfortable. Jewelry, makeup, facial hair, and unnatural hair colors are allowed and encouraged, as long as the colors are bright. Tatoos are discouraged.
The Amity must live in one building. Young Adult and Adult Couples may have their own rooms but Babies, Toddlers, Children and Teens share on large living area. There must be a play room with recreational activities for all ages. Pets are allowed and encouraged. A butler (or Bonehilda) must be hired.
There is a priority on these skills: Cooking, Painting, Guitar, Nectar Making, Sculpting, Drums and Dancing. Homeschooled Children and Teens should begin working on these skills, if possible, on the weekdays. On the weekends they can do as they wish.
Once your Young Adult Sims pass initiation, they can get a career in any of these (depending on your EPs): Culinary, Music, Stylist, Film, Magician, Fortune Teller, Spa Specialist, Nectar Maker, Painter and Sculptor.
Ideal traits for Amity are: Artistic, Exciteable, Natural Cook, Savvy Sculptor, Virtuoso, Coward, Lucky, Natural Born Performer and Childish. Three of these traits are necessary to join Amity, unless a Sim is Divergent.

So try out this challenge and tell me what you think and how it worked out for you. I'm still playing and testing and changing things. Feel free to ask any questions if you're confused or I didn't make something clear enough.

This challenge is awesome! Just a couple questions, do we start with a starter family and move the grown children to the houses? How do we control 5 houses at once? Do we create one family for each group to start or just one sim? Is this a legacy challenge?

Do we start with one family, and just that one? or just take a god like theme and control all?

I am not trying to be rude but just so you know you did make a mistake on some of the traits and jobs... it was Abnegation they are not the farmers and do not grow the towns crops they work in government. it is the Amity that grow the food so all the growing traits and jobs should be moved to Amity. so I would advise that you put the gardening and gathering to Amity and maybe put charisma and possibly move handiness (they would finx things for others?) to Abnegation. also you forgot to put how a sim would be divergent or it it up so us?

Dauntless make up is allowed because Christina puts eyeliner on Tris when she buys the dress

Erudite should also have the Education career since the books say almost all teachers are Erudite. But the challenge is really cool.

So cool. I have an erudite family and then the daughter, Ebony (my main sim) goes all rebel and becomes dauntless, even though the only dauntless traits she had were brave and rebellious. And also she falls in love with an amity boy who's the son of her mother's old best friend who chose to go to amity. I think it was an awesome challenge idea and I'm having a lot of fun with my sims

I think this challenge is great just one little question . how do you control 5 households at once without switching back and forward every 2 minutes checking if they're following all the rules?
