Hello, I am having a confusing problem with a sofa I made. I specifically mentioned Wes because you have been the most helpful answering my questions and I really appreciate that!

Anyway here is the problem I am having. I made a sofa and tested it out in my game... Here is how it looks in the catalog:

Okay, when I click on the sofa and try to place it without clicking on any color options, it looks invisible, but the shadow is there:

If I click on the sofa and then click each color option, I can see my sofa:

How can I fix this?

Thanks so much for all your help so far!

P.S. - I also attached my file.

Well I`m not Wes, but I`ll try to give you some help.

While looking at your package the first thing I noticed is that the entries in the shape file are wrong.

In the gmdc file , in items 3, two of the meshes are called "loveseat" and "feet". While in the parts entries in the shape file, the rest of the entries seem correct (for the various shadows), but there are two entries called "seatcushions" and "backcushion", there are no matching meshes in the gmdc file for these, so these should be changed, so the names match the two meshes mentioned above. You also might then want to make changes in the MATD files and texture files that they point to , so it is using your own textures, I don`t know if you had already changed the textures to your own.

Changing the names in the shape file so they are correct should solve your problem, but as I`m not at a computer which has sims 2 installed, I can`t test to be sure there are no other problems.

One last thing , please don`t start a new thread for each new problem like this, as this object has been imported using the mesh tool, please post such questions/problems in the mesh tool help thread. It`s just this forum will become unmanagable if everyone starts a new thread for every problem and then it`ll end up with no one getting answers to their problems. Thanks.
