Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Need Help with Creating Empty, Custom Hood Please
Thanks for taking time to read this. I'm trying to create a custom neighborhood without any Maxis townies from Pleasantview, downtownies, dormies, or any of the stealth hoods' townies from showing up. I want to make all of my own. I have every EP installed, and my base game is the Sims 2 Double Deluxe. I also have the anti-spawn mods from Pescado. I have rummaged through every guide I could find on MATY and various other sites, but for some reason, my EA folder is missing some of the hoods I'm supposed to write over, like G002 and P001; however, they do show up in the EADM folder. Can I install these files in EADM for it to work? And where is there an empty G002 template available anyway? Also, if I put in empty templates, will it bork up my other saved game? Thank you so much for your help!

There already exists clean and empty templates, the best being these: http://meetme2theriver.livejournal.com/63030.html They are very well made, no need to do it yourself.

Thanks! One question though, which ones here are empty? Because I have used some of these files in the past, and they had Maxis sims in them. I dont want any premades, if possible.

If you go to Tarlia's recent posts, she has a tutorial for disabling the stealth hoods. That way, any new custom neighborhood you make will be empty.

You can also use AGS to make the neighborhood, without Maxis content, and then put it into your regular game. Once you have AGS working and are over your learning curve, this is by far the easiest way.

I just went through this. If you want completely empty NBs, no Maxis playables, no bin people, no townies, nobody in graves, no special hobby people or any other Maxis sims anywhere, dead or alive, you cannot use the clean neighborhoods. They're clean, but they still have sims living there. It took me a couple of days to figure it out. None of the guides covers every single step starting from ground zero as if you didn't know anything.

I ran into the same confusing problem with the missing NBs. They're in there, They just are not under the same subfolder. Some of the neighborhoods are under neighborhood template and some of them are under UserData/Neighborhood. If you can't find one, look under the other subfolder. They're all there. This drove me absolutely crazy.

Go ahead and follow MATY's directions, deleting the characters and substituting their neighborhood templates. I didn't delete the lots because I want the lots, plus if you delete the lots in the special hoods like the hobby hoods, the game explodes or something. Be sure to follow the instructions about renaming N001 to N001-bk, otherwise the game will still spawn those same Pleasantview townies like Goopy even though you have the norespawn mods installed. I didn't understand this step and had to regenerate my neighborhoods in the documents folder more than once. You have to rename that folder before you run the game.

Pooklet's instructions are good but I found some steps missing. I had to redo things a couple of times, and, like you, I couldn't find those missing NB files.

Thank you all so much! It seems I was able to get my game to create a hood without this stuff in there. You all are beautiful, don't ever change!!!
