The Genie Blessing does not grant you with eternal life. It simply enhances your chances of winning against the reaper should he come calling. Each time you face him your chances of winning will be slightly smaller. The first time he comes to claim your sim you will have a 100% chance of winning and continuing to live another day, however the chances of beating the Grim will go down by 10% every time you meet him, until they are 0%. So, you will definitely die the 11th time he comes, but once your chances are less than 50% you can count on your sim picking the wrong hand. I've never had a sim live past day 7 (40% chance of success).

Hope this was helpful.

Put him in a secluded house, give him the prisoner token and be done with it. Or townify him.

Unwanted sims also make good fodder for a new cemetery needing some occupants. (;

I can hardly believe that this thread is two years old. I remember it clearly, especially Zarathustra's brilliant response to my first post. (#10)

What's happening to my life? It's going past too fast! What EP does that Genie come with? FreeTime I think. I'll need to get him! For myself!!

P.S. At least I'm glad that we get 70 or 80 years or so, not just the 80-90 days that Maxis gave our poor Sims. Though 70 is getting perilously close for me!

'Aging off' can give a sim eternal life. The only use I had for the Genie was the fixed modded wish for youth. I prefer to get more mileage out of my sims aging them to teen and using aging off so all ages can get more enjoyment out of life, unless an unforeseen tragedy hits.

AndrewGloria From what I heard relatives chatting about, there were a number of people in our family that lived to be in their 90s and about 4 up to at least 104 years old. Always being healthy, except for debilitating injuries from a car accident when a truck ran a stop sign, I've felt I may live longer than the norm. At times I think it might be interesting to see how the world evolves, yet others I'm a bit nervous about how I will do later on. There is also that LTW goal of my picture being on a Smucker's Jelly jar label if I make to 100. Those in the U.S. would get that one. (:

I wish it wasn't frowned upon to bump threads to give helpful answers to questions that more than one person might have. These old threads can be a useful resource.

And then there is elixir of life too! I am all for keeping them alive (whether the OP's Sim is still around or not) - but as for me, no plans to live forever - not making them, anyway Death is just a part of life.

It's not frowned upon to post in an old thread .... IF the post is somethin that would expand on, give more information about, basically a useful post.

What is frowned upon is necro'ing a post with somethin that doesn't bring anything new to the topic,

Sachi_Hidaka was chided for adding something that seven people found helpful. Right now, we still have a fairly active gameplay forum, where a new person who's having trouble is likely to get an answer, but that probably won't always be the case. I'm coming at this from the perspective of someone who regularly finds useful information in the currently nearly abandoned Create section from 8-10 years ago.

I understand and agree. I've mentioned to a few people that it would be nice if they left their help/ WCIF posts so as to help others who might have the same question. I know that I've found lots of good info in past posts, sometimes even goin back to a post when I might of forgotten the answer, but knew it was here somewhere.

I often Google for a problem with my game, only to find the answer in an old forum post from myself! My memory is shot.
