Thank-you! Hopefully none of my sims will die any time soon, but now I won't mind so much if they do. It felt in vain previously.

Thank you very much! The fact that this mod is needed just shows how broken the emotion system is. Shame.

Ahh! My elders literally just died last night! And everyone was home for it too! I so could have used this then. They were all just standing around like, "Meh." Thank you! At least the next death will be more eventful!

Thank you, I'm grabbing this, my sim died and her hubby was in bed sleeping and doesn't show any indication he noticed!

This mod is great! The patriarch of my family died and his daughter and granddaughter are devastated - they're moping, they're mourning at his urn autonomously, and best of all, they both reacted to his death as it was happening, even though none of them were in the same room as the father when he passed (they were on the same floor of the house, both in their respective bedrooms). The mother died the day before and I didn't have this mod yet, so the other Sims in the family showed little emotion unless I directed them to, which I found very dissatisfying since everyone in the family is very close. So thank you for making my Sims feel more human!

Will this need updating, with today's 12-16 patch? or is it good to go...?

That was an old reply, but I just checked the files and no changes are required for the Dec 16 patch.
