Open lots that are always full of sims and no rabbit holes (cinemas, spas, football games, concerts, restaurants, class...).

Adding to that, more terrains. Snow, mountainous, etc.

Also lay down roads (and maybe paths).

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.

Being able to set the neighbourhood climate, which would affect weather, potency of seasons, terrain type, available outdoor plants (deco) and what it's possible to grow (gardening, flowers) - and an expanded selection of plantables to complement this Get neighbourhoods really different from each other! Oh - and with Pets installed, a variety of different wildlife, like in TS3, but customisable (I don't want wild horses spawning in the middle of an urban area...)

I use the sims as a psychology simulator...

Caves and areas to explore. Also more craftables.

And recipes you can make yourself like in Sims 2 console...

Wow, I agree with all of these, especially the one about ignoring phantom poster who shows up just to dislike.
My one idea for this post is the ability to use something like the simological cake to choose, without skipping, life stages. There are people, for example, who hate toddlers (FYI: I will soon be hunting those people down and...well, never mind). So, when baby ages to toddler, the user could just click on the cake and the toddler would change to young child (sneaking in another idea), a preschool age where the child's tasks would be learning to ride a bike, tie his shoes, spell his name, and just be cute. He would have memories of being a toddler, but without the tedium of actually being one.
I do have a question about young adults, though. They appear in sims3 but they don't really have anything that differentiates them from regular adults. Shouldn't they?

I think that young adults should have something that differentiates them from adults. Limited job levels? Physical differences? Different interactions? I can't come up with specifics, but you should be able to tell right away what life stage a sim is in without having to open the UI or have special labels floating over their heads or anything like that. (This also applies to any other life stages that might be in the game.)

The ability to move between worlds without lag and instantly. Sims 2 did not have this, Sims 3 did..but had awful lag, I've heard.

IIRC young adults have their own walk style. I moded it out in my game so I can't tell young adults and adults apart.

Having the chance straightaway to know why the game is crashing when it's crashing. So that we won't have to do 50/50 or whatever method to find out why the game is crashing.

I don't do that. I have in my downloads folders separate folders called 1, 2, 3. Everything I put in the game today will go in 1, yesterday is 2, and so on. So, if I notice a problem, I just pull out everything in 1 and check those.

Period, or theme, hoods; pre-created, or creatable by you using specific templates, that will only pick up CC from the correctly named Downloads folder. Because even if they had a "medieval" pre-made, with dirt roads and clothes, jobs, hair, furnishing, and TOWNIES specific to ONLY "medieval" hoods, you would want your own CC TOO, that you could put in your "medieval Downloads" - so not every hood would have access to every other style.

Places your playables can go on vacation; but also neighborhood business options that allow a neighborhood to be run as a vacation destination. So people who live on the tropical island of Simuda will be able to operate hotels, B&Bs, tour companies (including boat, walking, and bus tours), souvenir shops, museums, etc; but will also be able to take vacations in Three Lakes and see snow, eat flapjacks, and learn native gestures in distant lands full of NPCs. Certain NPCs would be tourists from different regions (hopefully not too offensively stereotyped!) with different peculiarities; and if they have a good time, they keep returning to their favorite shops and hotels at certain seasons.

Bonus points if they can figure out ways to make cross-neighborhood vacationing possible without creating new and exciting opportunities for corruption and neighborhood bloat; but I'd settle for being able to have Simuda as a main hood and vacation in a Three Lakes that operates not too differently from the one we have now.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

An in-game, noncorrupting way to cleanly remove individual or groups of sims, by type of sim. For example, Ajay Loner could be deleted if he hadn't yet been played, but the Ottomases would have to be removed as a group or not at all. The game would pop up a message saying, sorry, these sims are too socially enmeshed and no longer deletable. Oldies and Burbs couldn't be removed at all. Townies and downtownies could be removed, the pointers to their character file would be reassigned to the next likely townie. And so on. Very hard to code well, but worthwhile.

I'd actually really like traffic to return from TS1. As annoying as it was to have Crumplebutt blocking your taxi for eons until you could leave the lot, it was actually very fun (in my opinion) to see traffic passing by the lot. It gave the game a sense of immersion and realism. Although, maybe this is just me being a Californian who finds places without any traffic rather odd...

More logic how they move. (They cannot step over plate or empty bottle on the floor and at the same time they can easily dance and walk through other sim)

I was playing TS1 the other day and thought the exact same thing. I noticed celeb sims even exited in their limos.

Which is another thing - bring back the pink flamingo limo!

Letting all Sims have ANY Lifetime Want, even if it doesn't match their aspiration. Has someone already done this with a mod?
Edit: Somebody posted this suggestion already.

I have a mod that does that. I don't remember who it's by, though. It's quite fun because, you know, just because you don't want to be faithful to one person doesn't mean you don't want kids, and just because you are a popularity sim doesn't mean you don't want to learn.
