Default Tips on buying micro SD cards?
I have plans to upgrade my phone and buy a new Nintendo 3DS XL. The phone bound one will hold videos and songs as I have an app for the videos and songs but not enough space for them.

My question is "Can I buy a larger micro SD card for the new Nintendo 3DS XL than the one provided?" I have recently bought some games and apps for my Nintendo 3DS (Nothing special about it beyond the basics)

If I can buy the SD card at the same size for the 3DS, will that work too?

Please see the reddit.com/r/3ds/ wiki on SD Cards: https://www.reddit.com/r/3DS/wiki/sdcard

Yes you can buy a new micro SD card. The "old" 3ds xl and the "new" 3ds xl use different sized cards. They are not interchangeable.

I'd recommend getting a 32GB sized one.

Here's the official nintendo list of cards that should work: http://en-americas-support.nintendo.../a_id/517/p/430

But really, any brand should work as long as its less than 32GB and properly formatted to FAT32.
