Default Final Test Files for Simburbia - Something for Everyone! All Playable Lot Types from All EP; No CC
Love city night life; great cultural, recreational, and educational facilities; high rise apartments; quaint houses in the suburbs; ranches; farms; and all the modern technology your heart could desire? If so, Simburbia's the place for you! Simburbia has it all - and sims will flock to it. But wait, there's a seedy underbelly too - grimy businesses, a criminal element, not so nice houses, a "no tell" motel out by the airport, and Simburbia's own version of Area 51. There's even a rumor that sea monsters lurk beneath of the dark water of Simburbia bay. What path will your sim choose in Simburbia - black widow, beach bum, business mogul, mad scientist? Or, something better or worse?

Simburbia is the result of more than 3 years of work in CAW. Simburbia has all community lots from all expansion packs except a Rebel Hangout, Student Union, Cafeteria, Business Park, Wasteland, and Dried Up Beach as most have no functionality outside their associated expansion pack. Riverview Lite was used as the base for Simburbia because I thought it would be quick and easy to add all the expansion pack lots to it for a fully functional, all encompassing neighborhood. I also wanted space for large lots to use Roaring Heights rabbit holes and my "Enchanting" series of suburban houses. Was I wrong! Much terraforming has been done and streets/paths revised. Sea level was raised considerably to make Simburbia water deep enough for dive lots. Routing was completely re-worked. My hope is that players will hardly recognize Riverview as the base for Simburbia. Note: Simburbia is a large world with many objects, plants/trees, and lots! A higher end computer may be required to run it. I have a moderate gaming PC and run Simburbia without problems. The only lag experienced is a few seconds at 3 a.m. and/or 5 a.m. when the game resets NPCs and so forth. ~~SimmyRN

Lots:
176 lots total - 108 Community & 68 Residential

Built with patch 1.67.

Known issues:
  • Public Sounds Stereo speakers on community lots may default to classical music and need to be reset by the player. See Community Lot table, above, for music suggestions. (This is an EA issue.)
  • Special effects generators on stages at show venue lots must be reset after installation of Simburbia. See Community Lot table, above, for special effects suggestions. (This is an EA issue.)
  • The Gnubb set must be placed in-game in order for the “rigging” to work correctly. Eerie Park is marked with terrain paint so it’s easy to tell where the set is supposed to go. (This is an EA issue.)
  • Boats “jump” as they cross the edges of dive lots. (This is an issue with all custom dive lots.)
  • Caves on dive lots sometimes “boot” divers to the shore. If this occurs, it is recommended to wait until the tentacles are visible at the cave before entering, not point the in game viewer directly at the cave as the sim enters, and/or to “reset” or delete/undo the cave. See link "Sim Resets When Exploring An Underwater Cave" for more information. (This is an issue with all dive lots.)

Default Allegro Cafe & Pool Hall
Community Lot # 1 - Allegro Café & Pool Hall
University Hangout
20x30
F: §107,332
U: §35,934
Inspired by Café Allegro, Seattle Washington's Original Espresso Bar established in 1975, Allegro Café is a great place for University sims - or other caffeine addicts - to get their daily fix and grab a snack. Caffeinated sims can play instruments or expound on philosophical issues in the first floor coffee bar. Or, shoot pool in the building next door. Upstairs at the café is a Ping-Pong table, photo booth, and the café office. On the third floor is an outdoor juice keg, dance floor, whiteboard, and foosball table. Spawns barista. Has LLAMA. Local law enforcement tends to stake out the alleyway, so everyone should feel safe at Allegro Café & Pool Hall!

Default Simburbia Internat'l Airport
Community Lot # 3 - Simburbia Internat'l Airport
No Visitors Allowed
50x60
F: §417,037
U: §93,328
With architecture inspired by modern airport designs, Simburbia Internat'l Airport has hosted sim travelers from all over Sim Planet. From the efficient ticket agents to the airport security center and concourse with restaurant, shops, and bars, it's bon voyage for sims! Sims can have passport photos taken at the security center. Juiced travelers can wile away layover time by listening to the piano in the piano lounge or dancing on the dance floor. (Public Sounds Stereo may need to be reset to Songwriter music.) Even sims who aren't traveling may want to visit the second floor arcade or business center. The third floor air traffic control center is where all the real action takes place. Spawns register attendants, bartender, and barista. (Notes: Airport entrance is at the left side of lot. Airport parking is not included on lot.)

Default Modern Triplex
Residential Lot # 3 - Modern Triplex
Late Night apartment house
3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms
20x20
F: §18,469
U: §3,578
Located on a dead end street near the cemetery, it might not be the best neighborhood but at least it's quiet. Just ignore the tales about ghosts in the graveyard across the street. The playable apartment has an easel, telescope, and small garden in the back yard. Open plan first floor with 1 single bedroom and 1 bathroom. (First floor bedroom could be converted into an office or laundry room.) Upstairs there's a master en suite, a single bedroom, and another bathroom. (Single bedroom upstairs would make an excellent nursery!) Houses 4 sims. 2 NPC apartments.

Default Travel Trailer
Residential Lot # 4 - Travel Trailer
2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms
15x10
F: §15,767
U: §1,047
From the mismatched furniture to the wallpaper that screams the 70s, this travel trailer needs a lot of TLC! Owners may first have to evict any poor college student squatters. At least it has indoor plumbing and a little garden. Houses 3 sims. Uses base game and University objects only except for the Island Paradise boat trailer. (Note: the truck on which the travel trailer sits should be considered decorative only as it was placed using the "MoveObjects on" cheat.)

I have played multiple games in Riverview, and I didn't recognize the general map until I read the OP again and got to the Riverview mention. Riverview was always a nice and easy world to play, but the lack of water activities and beaches put me off after a while and I would move my households to other worlds.

*My laptop might not be able to handle an extended game in Suburbia, but I might be tempted to give it a go later in the week. This looks awesome!

In the game of life, I play with Free Will set to High.

@SimmyRN

The world looks great!

You could try 7zip instead of WinRAR, as it has a better compression. Also, why not use Sim File Share? No-one will need an account to download from there.

I will choose a path that's clear- I will choose free will

Hi, I'll be happy to have a look at your world. Installation went fine, loading takes quite a while. Seems to be really heavy. I'll let you know my findings

Well, 7zip didn't help much but I may not have used the correct settings. I'll keep working on it.

I tried WinZip, 7-zip, and WinRAR. None would compress the file enough. Therefore, I split the file into 2 parts and attached it above. I fixed a couple of things on lots and repaired some routing. So, I'm removing the files from Sim File Share. Please download from Post # 1 to test the world. Thanks very much!

So, let me give you a first report about exploring your world. Because I added some more pictures I set it up in my testing tumblr, please follow this link.

Also some more general things. Again, this is just what I noticed during playing. Or are suggestions/ideas to improve longtime gameplay. Feel free to ignore any or all of it.

The world really is quite heavy. So far I didn't have problems, but the world is not fully populated yet, also I use NRAAS helper tools. And I don't play legacy-style at the moment.

You have a large amount of townies. Some of them might not be required, for example the bouncers at the main entrance door of Simburbia Sports Zone and The Watering Hole Saloon. There is no entrance restriction, so the ropes don't make much sense. I haven't visited all bars yet, but there may be more.
Or maybe some of the cash registers/professional bars can be removed?

Also, some of the career rabbitholes are placed several times. While it is realistic to have more than one bistro (or grocery, or diner), each RH adds a set of npc-coworkers.

If you want to, I also can have a look at the routing in CAW. Did you clean the GlobalLayer before exporting? Do you know how to remove unnecessary image-files from the world file before you export? This might help with file size.
