PROBLEM:
I downloaded a ton of cc at once, and went into the game. I was messing around with the graphics, and went into a random pre-made household. I noticed that the sims had dark purple, black, or light blue skin. On the loading screen, they have regular white skin. I tried to find a solution, and removed all of my default skins. (I did this by using sims2pack installer, sorting all my downloads by type, and deleting the skin files with unknown types) I also reverted the graphics to the defaults, which didn't work either. Finally, I deleted the neighborhoods and replaced them with the defaults in the sims 2 program files. (Not documents) Nothing is working, so I came here. Please help??

Temporarily remove your Downloads folder by moving it to the Desktop and then load the game and enter a household.

If your problem disappears then it is a problem in your CC. If you you still have the problem then you might have problem with the game working with you Graphic Card or something like that. Report back with your results.

Sounds like you have default skin lurking in either your download folder or in your saved sims folder. If placing the download folder on your desk top doesn't revert the skins try looking inside of saved Sims. If it's in your download folder and you can't find it you will probably have to do a 50/50 search. At one point I picked up some kind of default body mesh, turned out the file had no name just a bunch of letters and numbers so doing a word hunt didn't bring it to light, took a 50/50 search.

I removed all of my skin tones, both default and non default, and nothing is working. I know for a fact that I removed all of them. I also know it is a problem with my custom content, because when I removed the downloads folder the problem was fixed. I'm really frustrated, does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? Some info I forgot to include in the beginning: Prior to this happening, my sims had a different skintone on their head than their body. I do not know when this started, because I haven't had the Sims 2 for that long and have only played with a sim once, and it was one I created. I do know that this problem was fixed when I removed the default skins in the beginning.

Did you remember to delete your caches once you removed the skins? Im afraid that you are going to have to do the 50/50 on your downloads to find the culprit.

Sorry for being dumb, but what do you mean by 50/50? Also, how do I clear my cache?

Alright, thanks everyone, I managed to fix it with the 50 thing. I was an idiot and somehow overlooked some skins.. .-. For anyone who's wondering, the problem files were the skins included in this: http://berrynooboos.tumblr.com/post...otten-this-many
I think it was because I was only supposed to have one at a time, so, yeah.

You're not dumb. None of us knew what the 50/50 was when we started. Everyone starts with a different store of data and all of us are learning new things all the time. (At least, I certainly hope we are!) And someday you'll be the one telling someone new to the board what the 50/50 is and where to look for information that they're too overwhelmed to find.

Welcome aboard. Don't be a stranger.
