None of my custom content is showing up.
I have EP installed.
I have followed the checklist, no problem. I tried the live help, but still not showing up.

Are talking custom content as in anything including skins or are you talking like recolors of objects?

I'm having a similar problems - my custom skins and makeup, etc. isn't showing up. My furniture, walls, floors and houses show up just fine. I used the checklist as well and no luck. I've gotten one woman's outfit to show up and one hairstyle but that's it. Any suggestions?

Do you have all this unzipped and installed loose in the downloads folder. Make sure to click the little flower icon to show custom content. If these are new downloads, make sure you have downloaded the mesh for them. Recolors of maxis stuff does not need a mesh, just newly created downloads.

All content has been unzipped and is loose in the downloads folder, a fact that I hate since I had things very organized in my TS1 days but I digress. All new downloads have the appropriate meshes and designated recolors. I have no idea why this is happening. Last month all my custom content was fine when I created my sim "me" and my friends. No one else uses the computer and I don't have any viruses or anything. Noticed after finals that despite the files being in the file folder, the clothes and makeup and hair wouldn't show up. My furniture shows up just fine. I have custom content catalog option on. I have no idea what's going on.

This won't help with the not showing up problem, but will help with the orginizing one. http://forums.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=46633

There is a flower like icon inside the game you have to click on in CAS to get custom stuff to show in there. The only other reason I can think of for this is if you ran the sim-pe program on your downloads folder to update for university. I know this will ruin all the body shop files.

Custom content is selected and I haven't had SimPE since before uni. Just getting the Clean Installer back on there (had to do a complete reinstall of the game when I got uni and I took all my programs off but didn't remember to put all of them back on like Clean Installer SimPE etc. So i know those two aren't the problem. I even downloaded some things last night and though I haven't checked to see in game, they aren't showing up in body shop so i assume they aren't going to show in game either. argh. I don't understand it. One week the game was working fine, I go off for a few weeks to prepare for finals and this is what happens? Since no one else has access to the computer, especially the sims, I can't blame them lol. I did take it in to psych class a few times for a developmental psychology demonstration/model, but I manned the controls there two.

Thanks for the suggestions for organizing. Now that the semester is over i might have the time to finally do it, because I sure wish for the days of TS1-style organization. :D

Does anyone know what could be the problem. I'm going to try to load the game again and I'll let you know the progess. Wsh me luck :D

I'm still having a problem after running the Clean Installer and doing the checklist. Might have to resign myself to not having any custom clothing or makeup except the one hairstyle and outfit that shows up if I find a solution soon. I hate to reinstall especially since I just finished building my "Everest" house and would hate to lose my sims and such. If anyone out there can think of a solution to this problem, I'll be eternally in your debt lol. I know I can't go to tech support on the maxis site since this is about custom content. Very frustrating.

Ok so 24 hours have past and after many attempts to get my clothes, hair and makeup to show in the game, I have yet to find a solution. I've gone through the many suggestions on this site, and I've found nothing on the BBS. I'm at my wit's end. I might have to (sob) resign myself to no new faces and clothes and just download furniture until that option undoubtedly disappears as well. If anyone has any suggestions, please help. I know this may not be something of particular importance to most people, but the game is one of my only refuges from the busy world lol. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try removing your downloads folder to your desktop. Make a new one. My documents-Eagames- the sims 2. Add a few new downloads and see if they show up. Don't ry in any of your houses, if so do not save, everything will revert back to maxis. Maybe something in folder causing the problem. I understand wanting to play the game.

Thanks teresa ... I did try that to some degree - creating a new downloads folder and moving the downloads into it but all at one time. I'll try it again though with a few downloads at a time. Hopefully this will work. Thanks again

*EDIT* Well, I've tried everything possible and it still won't work. I might have to either just have to re-install university and hope that works or just not use non-furniture custom content anymore. Can anyone point me to some links on how I can save the lots and families I've made without losing the history I've built for them, especially in pleasantview. Any help is greatly appreciated
