this is only a minor question, and i used the search first but could not find the answer. How many chance cards do I need to create per career level? I understand the 'four outcomes per card' concept, but im not sure how many actual cards i need to make per level. I apologize if the info for this was allready posted somewhere and I missed it. thank you.

Chance cards do not even have to be used, if you don't want to take the chance of making the wrong choice. You can just click "ignore" and you can still advance to the next career level as long as you have met the requirements shown under your sim's work information. Each level requires a certain amount of friends you must have and a certain level of different skills, depending on the job. The amount of skill needed will show up with the level circled. If you fill up to that level, and you have the amount of friends required, you will be guaranteed to move up to the next level in your career the next time you go to work, so long as you keep those levels up and don't allow them to drop.

Using the chance cards (which come randomly and do not necessarily occur in every career level) is a way to get a chance bonus if you make the right choice, or they can cause you to lose skill points or even your job if you choose the wrong answer. What may be the right choice one time may wind up being the wrong choice the next time, if you are thrown the same chance card more than once.

I hope this helps you. I wasn't sure by your question whether you needed to know how the chance cards worked or if you were creating a hack career and wanted to know how many chance cards to use for each level. If it is the latter, I'm afraid I don't know anything about creating those.

Me neither! My 19 year-old daughter's pretty good at that stuff though. She's getting ready to enter tech school to learn about working with computer programs. I can hardly wait for the Sims 2 latest movie contest to be decided and see if she made it in the top finalists. She did a great job on it, but had to cut back some to make it only 3 minutes long for the contest. Her original version was fantastic - what's left is still fantastic to me, but you know, I am her mom, so . . .

Anyway, I really like the idea of that kind of career. I suppose maybe you're making it so you don't particularly have to go to college to go into a paranomal carrer? That would be great! I played the college part for a few months when it first came out, but here lately I've gotten tired of going through all that trouble and have been playing in my neighborhoods. It's a shame they didn't make it so the star and paranomal careers could be done in the regular neighborhood.

Well, good luck with your creation - I'm sure it will be a great one! Hmmm, I wonder if they'll make vampire hunting a career in the next expansion pack???

modding the game needs to be in the General Modding section unless there's a more specific forum (not Sims 2 Help)

Well Im not certain, but I think that the paranormal career in the game is more being involved with the paranormal happenings, like being a psychic. The career Im trying to create is more like investigating the paranormal happenings to see if they are fraudulent or real.
