Ok...I have had this problem for a while. I am not sure if I am posting in the right topic because this forum is so confusing, but whatever. My problem is that every single child that is "made" by two sims (not through the sim creator) turns out to be an Aries. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Am I not doing something right or is this an issue with the game or what? Is there a mod to fix this? I even did a forum search to find an answer for this, but I got no results. If anyone knows please reply as soon as possible. Thanks. :D

Well, when your Sims have kids I believe that they inherit personality traits in three ways: the same as mother, the same as father, or somewhere between (somebody correct me if I'm wrong!) Therefore, if you like your Sims to be neat, and always give them a high score for neatness in CAS, their kids will all be neat. I like my Sims to be untidy but nice, and always seem to create Virgo or Pisces... and my in-game babies are usually Virgo or Pisces, too. Could this be what is causing this?

JM Pescado(sp?) explained it in his forum FFS I think, anywho it has something to do with the ingame personality generator, every start up it produces personalities in a certain order aries, aquarious blah you get the idea, the way to get around this problem is to load CAS and create a few dummy sims, using the randomise button then just hit the little X and cancel that sim repeat serveral times 6 at least i think it was and then it will make the games generator, generate mnore no conformist personailties, do this each time you load the game and then then every new child born should have a varying personailty. its because of the sequence of star signs/personalities that twins will never have the same star sign since the first born gets aries the second aquarious, this will happen to the next 2 children born in that family after the next start up. got to JMPascados forum to get his more indepth and more accurate method

Sorry i dont have a link

Hope I helped

Thanks. I thought that it had to do with parents' traits, so I purposely created parents that were sloppy and shy (the opposite on an Aries' personality) just to see if they would get a different zodiac sign. They did not, to my dismay. Also, EVERY child in the same family is an Aries (I had a family of four children, all of them being Aries), and THEIR children were Aries. Are the generations to come all doomed to be of the same Zodiac Sign? I thought maybe encouraging them as a child and teenager (to be more playful, etc) would change their zodiac saign, but they only progress so much in the personality bar and do not do so enough to change.

As for Shadowkano's reply...that sounds like a strange way to reset a generator, but I will check out that forum if I can find it via Yahoo. Thanks for the replies so far (I expected none)!

Ok...ten minutes later I post yet again! I found the forum ShadowKano was referring to. It turns out that it is a bug in the game called the "firstborn effect," and rolling several random sims each time you start the game turns out to be the only way to fix. Here is a link that discusses this.

Thanks again!!! :Pimp:
