I'm having some issues with SimPE and directx 9c on my laptop.. Mind you it works fine on the desktop which uses nvidia graphic card, xp pro (windows version)
but on my gateway (using radeon card) laptop using xp home edition, it won't show the previews at all. I've updated my drivers for the card, I've gotten the latest directx, I "tried" to understand how to manually install directx but no go on that. I"m really confused.. I've had the problem about 2 weeks and usually just don't preview.. but I really think I need preview as I'm having issues with my creations and I"m still learning it.

Do I need to post anything else about hte specs?
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it won't work and I keep getting the error listed below?
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried downloading the April 25 Direct X update? Not the c version. There is a link to this over in the Dat Gen thread. Try that as it resolves a lot of the problems you seem to be having.

Grapholina.. I looked through the 3 pages of the dat gen thread and I didn't see the link. I must be overlooking it?!
Is there a way you can get it copied to your clipboard and paste it in a link in here?? please.. I'd like to try that..
When I was at the directx site with microsoft.. I didn't see anything newer than 9c, which is why I went with it. Thanks in advance

This is the link I believe Grapholina referred to. It's hidden in Datgen 7.9.
