I just got a new computer, and I installed TS2. When I double click on the University icon on my desktop, the initial startup screen comes up (the one with the white background), it stays there for awhile, then disappears and nothing happens for awhile then all of a sudden TS2 will load up, but when I get to the part where you choose what neighbourhood you want to play in, they're all blank.

I moved my neighbourhoods and downloads etc etc over from my old computer. But I guess they don't work

Try going to my documents/ eagames/ the sims 2/ folder. Delete the groups.cache file and the content registry file. See if your game will load now. They will regenerate, so it won't hurt your game. Good luck!
