hi there, I hope you can help. since a view days I cant play sims2 (+ university) anymore. I try to run the game and it takes a while til I can chose a neighborhood....sometimes I get knocked off right after I chose the neighborhood and sometimes the game runs fine for hours and all of a sudden I get knocked off with the following blue screen. Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or-Equal Stop: 0X000000D1 (0XF7709010, 0X00000002, 0X00000008, 0XF7709010) TT1724ht.sys - address F7709010 base at F76FC000, DateStamp 3ffac313 I searched the FAQ for such Stop messages and didnt find anything. Hope its ok that I post my prob here. I took out all of my downloads and I even reinstalled the whole game and ep and even with everything in its original way I got knocked off several times...and I have to say since I bouth the sims2 I had no probs and aso when the ep came out I had no probs and it all just happens since 3 or 4 days....I dont have a clue whats wrong now. Its hard to find out out anything when the problem appears at different actions and at totally different times....how can I find out whats wrong when the games runs for hours sometimes....and sometimes I get knocked off right at the neighborhood :-( here are the infos of my pc: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+ 1.81 GHz 1GB RAM MSI MS-StarForce GeForce 6600 GT (NVidia GForce 6600 GT) (Treiberanbieter: NVidia Driver Date: 30.09.04 Driververs.: 6.6.8.1) Windows XP Service Pack2 DirectX 9.0C TerraTec Aureon 7.1 Universe (driver date July 11th 2003, driver version 5.14.3.21) ps: I also tried the game after a driver update and it crashed as before....then someone told me not to do a driver update when sims was running fine without the update...and so I returned to the driver (above) that I had before. I m not good at all that techical stuff...I hope to find out what s wrong...hopefully one of you guys can help. thank you Mario I miss my sims :-(

Every so often I have the same thing happen to me. I do not think it is the game. I am going to have my comuter checked out. I have also found that sometimes when I start it up there is a strange noise that will go away after awhile. It souns like something spinning and having a hard time at it. I am not saying the game is not the trouble, I just don't think it is. I hope to hear from others as well as you are. |

Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or-Equal means hardware error TT1724ht.sys seems to be attached to the Audigy 2 sound card.. if you have that, I'd recommend reinstalling or upgrading your sound drivers. I can find which file you'll need but I need to know if you have the Audigy 2 and which model (ordinary, ZS etc.) |

When My game started doing that, it turned out to be my video card. I only had 128mb memory on it. I upgraded to 256 onboard mem--which has solved the problem. |

@bairy: I found out that "TT1724ht.sys" has somethin to do with my soundcard....but nothing has changed with it....for many months.....I have this soundcard: TerraTec Aureon 7.1 Universe I found no driver update, just beta drivers....so far I never installed any beta drivers....is the above info the info you requested? sorry if some things sound silly...but my english is missing words here n there :-) it would be kewl if you could help....I m sooooooooooooo down cos I cant play my beloved sims anymore :-( I dont understand how this can happen when nothing has changed....for example I tested the game again today and could play several hours....later I tryed to play and couldnt cos it knocked me off over n over again with the above mentioned blue screen....I d be so happy if you could help.....you d make my day,my week, my month, my simmmy thing :-) |

hmm, not an Audigy. ok we'll run a test. Run the game with -nosound at the end. Then play it for as long as you can stand and see if it crashes. This will isolate whether it's definitely the sound playing up |

hmm its hard to test it cos when I can play the game then I can play it for hours....and then...often it crashes right at the neighborhood......I deinstalled the sound drivers and reinstalled....and had a crash again....so took the risk and installed the beta drivers....that were the only different driveres on the homepage for my soundcard...and after I installed them I played about 2 1/2 hours....but I cannot say that its a good sign....I hope it is one....but I experienced longer game play before and then crashed again....:-( I cant sit at the pc all day long....during the week I hardly have time to test it for so many hours...I ll try to run the game and let it run on its own....while I have to do other things....what also is another strange thing...sometimes it seem to load forever and sometimes every load goes real fast.....loading neighborhood....or lots or CAS....the last time played it was ok....big lots were loaded in less than a min. and I experienced a loading time of 5 min. for the very same lot...and I didnt make any changes on that lot....it was all during my 1000 testings....as long as it runs its...but if I should crash again I ll follow your advice and try to run it without sound....thank you for your help....:-) since I installed the beta drivers for my sound card (others are not available) I had no crash for 3 days....lets see....how it works today :-) |
