http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=76465 I deleted all of the original neighborhoods and created my own custom one called powell. i would like to bring back strangetown and only strangetown but i want to keep my custom neighborhood exactly how it is. all the universities are attached to powell too. How exactly do i do this? how do i know which nieghborhood is which? n001 n002 and n003 files all seem to be the originals, but if they are then where is my custom neighborhood? im so confused. i compressed the entire ea games folder so before i do any copying of neighborhood files or anything it would be cool if someone could let me know what im supposed to do. thanks. also there are no other files after n003...there is only those three. |

N001 is Pleasantview N002 is Strangetown N003 is Veronaville Anything greater than 003 (004 and up) will be your custom and will be in the order that you created them in. The numbers will not recycle (as far as I know) if you delete a custom one or even a default one. |

Strangetown is N002. You say you deleted them all, your own, if it were created after deleting the others should be N001 now, it would replace the N001 that *was* Pleasantview. Mine did anyway. But, if the others are gone...you shouldn't still have an N003. So, did you delete them, then quit, then start again and make yours ? That way, it should all be OK. What you say is confusing me though... Is your custom neighborhood still there in the actual game ? Is it new or are there any photos, as if there are, you could check in the photo album for this neighborhood, like I said, it should be N001 and if it's as you'd recognise for your town, it's OK, you'd know which is yours, and which to save. If not, I'd go into your custom neighborhood while in the game, and take a photo and see which folder it ends up in. Then thats yours. To restore Strangetown, rename your EA Games folder, can be anything. Then restart the game, it makes a new folder. If all is well, you should take N002 from this new game folder, and put it into your game folder with your N001, or whichever one is yours. Hoping yours isn't N002 as well that is.... Then delete the new one you made, and name your one back to EA Games...and you should be set to go. You've got that last bit from the link you put...I had my page up too far and didn't see it...Sorry ! |

i think i went into the folder from program files as opposed to my saved games....i went into ea games folder from my documents and my custom neighborhood(n004) is there...then i went into ea games folder from program folder and the three neighborhoods were there n001-n003. so i guess alls i have to do now is just copy n002 to my folder that hold n004?.....also i would like to give strangetown a university however all three unis are on my custom neighborhood. can i somehow copy a uni to strangetown, liek a second la fiesta? |

I think the Program Files hold the originals for another reason...I'd leave them alone, as in don't delete them. Only move/remove the ones in your My Documents as these are the ones you play and have your saved games in them. If you delete an original neighborhood, it goes from your My Documents folder. So if you just want Strangetown again you can try copying that folder if you want to, and if it doesn't work (I've no idea if it will), do as explained in the link in your first post to get that N002 folder. If you only have your own neighborhood in your game as it is....I think that's what you're saying anyway, then when you get your new N002 then yes it can go in the Neighborhood folder with the neighborhood you have already. You don't need to copy any Universities, the three you have are available as many times as you want to use them. When you go into the part where you pick a Uni for the town, they are all always available for use or you have the choice to make your own. |
