I have the exact same problem, and haven't been able to find a reason for it. Since I have a GeForce 6600 GT card, I went through and did the fix so bump mapping will show up, restarted my computer, and when I started my game up, everything looked great. But after only about 5 minutes of playing, all my clothes went blurry. I tried to contact EA support about it, but they gave me the usual uninstall/reinstall answer. No good. Still get the problem after only a few minutes. Sometimes, it doesn't even go back, and as soon as I start the game, the clothes are blurry from the beginning. I know there has to be other people with this problem. Here's my computer stats: Windows XP Media Center Edition Pentium IV 3.00 GHz Processor GeForce 6600 GT 128mb 1 GB RAM Here's a screen I took before everything went blurry: ![]() And after. Notice my game settings with everything on high. ![]() I have the newest drivers for my card, and actually have tried even older drivers, and nothing fixes this. It makes me not want to play my game, and I can't make screenshots for any clothing I make because it would look awful. |

I posted this problem awhile back, and never got a solution, so don't count on one. Apparently, it's a VERY rare problem, because besides you, I've never seen anyone else with it. I'm curious, though. What are your computer specs? My computer should run this game beautifully, since I have a high end video card, and a nice Sony Vaio computer that's only 2 months old. It makes me feel like I'm playing on an old piece of junk. I mean, on my old computer that was almost 5 years old, I never had an issue with blurry clothing. |

You can find out what video card you have by going into Start/Run, then typing in "dxdiag" without the quotes. Look in the display tab. Your card should be listed in the upper left section. Unless we have the same video card, I don't think the problem has anything to do with RAM or processor. My processor is a lot higher and I have twice your RAM. It could be an issue with certain video cards, though. The problem for me started as soon as I installed NL. Do you have Nightlife? |

One solution that worked for me, but may not work for others, was to drop the in game resolution. I have normal computer screen at 1600x1280, but the clothes are blurry at that resolution, so I play at 1360x1280. try playing in a lower screen resolution and see if it helps. |

your killing your processor by having all your graphics high and having only 1.10 ghz speed ( which is below the minimum for the sims 2).leave the refresh rate on 60 as well. |

GeForce 440 mx was my old video card. The graphics looked awful, but I did at least have my clothes show up clear. I have my game resolution set at 1024x768. I have a pretty big flat panel monitor, so if I go any lower, everything will look huge. My desktop resolution is set at 1280x1024. Does the game resolution have to be set at the same res as the desktop? |

I tried playing on a lower screen resolution, and it still doesn't work, I'll try putting my refresh rate on 60 now. |

My refresh rate's been at 60, and it still gets blurry, so that won't fix it. |

Can I please ask, what does the refresh rate do? |

It's basically how fast your monitor refreshes the screen. Like, if you've ever seen a computer in the background on TV, like on the news or something, you know how there looks like there's lines moving up the computer monitor? That's because the computer's refresh rate is lower than the video camera's. I hope that made sense. |
