Hi everybody

I am having a very strange problem with the new SimPE.
I've made a table, Doing it the old standard way (Cloning a new stand alone object, editing it in Milkshape, reimporting it by MStool and SimPe).
BUT when I test the object is turning the wrong way (on its back).
Then I've goen back to view the object's location compered to an existing object, and my object seem to be placed alright.
Have any of you had this problem? and would know what to do about it?'

Best regards

The newer versions of SimPE have a direct import of .obj files - you can use that instead of the MeshTool to bring your new object back in to the .package file.

There is also an option "Order" next to the [Export] and [Import] buttons.
This must be set correctly before you export the original mesh for editing.

If you are going to use the [Import] in SimPE, you will set this to "XZY"
That will make the mesh come in to your 3d editor in the correct position, standing up.

If you are going to use the MeshTool you must set this to "XYZ". It will make the mesh come in to your 3d editor laying on it's side, which is how it has to be for the MeshTool to use it.

Or you can export the mesh with the default settings, edit it in your mesh program and then rotate it before exporting for the Mesh Tool (in Milkshape, set the Rotate options to Origin, X 90 Y 0 Z 180).

(I prefer this way because I can edit the mesh in the correct orientation)
