iv had nighlife installed on my pc for ages and when i put the disc in a minuet ago it came up a window asking to put in the sims 2 nightlife disc although it was in the drive.
i have tried restarting my pc several times, running the game for my computer then the disc drive, puttiing the disc in and letting it run itself and also from the start and run option in my computer but still no luck.
any ideas on whats wrong with it?
if someone could get back to me as soon as that would be great
thanks.

do you have any cd burning tools intsalled? sometimes the game will not run if it detects certain programs are installed like cd coping or cd image tools.

Do other discs work; for example, can you play an audio cd? Or is it just the NL disc?

I had exactly the same problem as you did when I first got NL - none of my other discs worked unless I restarted the computer and put a different disc in before Windows started.
Try scanning your PC for SpyWare (I recommend using LavaSoft).

I also had this happen to me but it was uni when it decided to say please insert disk and try again. here is how I fixed it. I found that it makes the computer run a little slow but I can play the sims 2.
try this, we've posted it before and it has helped others. You have an nvidia, just maybe it will help. It worked for us. This was on another site for another of maxis's games that has the same safedisc thing. Also for XP users, such as us.
