Hi!
(Hope this is the right spot, some kind moderator can move the thread if necessary. :) )
I'm making a road replacement for lush terrains. Specifically, I want a road based on the Ziggu floor from BV. I don't want footpaths, and I want the edges of the road to be a bit irregular - it's meant to be a partially-overgrown jungle environment.
I've looked at various replacement packages on MTS, and am basing mine on Stev84's Country Roads. The Ziggu floor is looking okay, with the stones about the right size now, to match Phaenoh's terrain paint.
The problem I'm having is that the edges of the road in hood view are too obvious. I've blanked out around the curves, which looks fine, but when I blanked out the straight edges to match, thinking all my problems were solved, they got much worse. Is it that I am erasing in the wrong way in PaintShopPro? Or am I replacing the wrong textures, or something like that? The curves I erased earlier still look fine, but the newer erasing is horrible.
There are 10 texture files and 20 LIFO files in the package. So far, all I've been doing is 'Build DXT' to replace the textures from Stev's package. I suspect there might be a simpler way to do this than replacing 30 textures every time I want to change something, but I haven't found any information about that.
Some of the images, when 'built' with the erased edges, come out pixelly on the edges (like the in-game photos), while others look correct with the checkerboard showing the invisible areas. Perhaps I shouldn't use the erased version of the images on the files where they look funny?
Package attached. Thanks for your assistance!
