... What official patches should I install and which ones should I avoid? Same for Unofficial patches?
And also, the AwsomeMod? I hear it fixes a lot of things, should I download that?
I have had it installed on my computer before but I got bored of it and uninstalled it... and now I decided to play again. I never used the AwsomeMod last time, or any patches.

the newest patch, 1.12.7 still has some bugs being ironed out. Id suggest you go for the 1.11 patch, unless the mods youre installing are only compatible with the current.
Never used Awesome Mod, i dont want to have to deal with all that messing with framework and whatnot :p

LOL... well you have to "mess with the Framework" if you want to install ANY .package format mods, and since you're at Mod The Sims, I would tend to assume you do ;)
Awesomemod requires a certain amount of attention, though, specifically being up to date on patches, so if you don't want to always have the latest patch, you basically can't use it.
However, I would recommend getting the latest patch, as it includes a TON of significant new features... like being able to place lots anywhere in Edit Town, recolorable ceilings, multi-story columns, new real estate system, consignment store, tattoos in CAS, LAUNDRY, and much, much more. A lot of features from Ambitions were made available to everybody through the patch.
And although SOME of the patch features are a tad buggy, AFAIK there aren't any new bugs relating to anything ASIDE from the new features... and most of em work fine... so you still come out ahead with the patch :)

Do we need the latest updates, even if we don't have all the EP's, because I have only updated to WA.
