Ok,
I've been looking for a roof tutorial (and it really doesn't have to be sims2, it can be sims 3) and the ones I seem to be able to find are no longer working. (reflexsims has gone away).
I'd like to do something unusual, and of course, the pictures I'd planned to use, I can't find now.
Something with curved/flowing lines. Sort of like this:

But high on the ends and low in the middle.

By coincedence I was actually thinkin of starting a roof tutorial tonight (for TS3). I was gonna concentrate on making wavy roofs but I guess once you know how to use CFE to shape a roof you could just mess around with it and see what you get...not entirely sure if what you're asking for is possible within the limits of the sims though.

I've been looking around to see if there's already a tutorial for wavy roofs and came across this which I think is a bit similar to what you're looking for:

Thank you! That is part of what I'm looking for. I can tinker around with CFE to see if I can get the curve in the middle. (I tried to draw a rough example... I can't draw a straight line, much less a gentle arc... it made stick people look like masterpieces)
When/if you make the wavy roof tutorial, please let me know. I am definitely interested.

Hope it's some help to you :) I kept the tutorial pretty basic but if you're looking for a continuous slope using CFE it's still possible, I've just been working on one actually:http://i859.photobucket.com/albums/ab154/missroxor/Build%20to%20Plan/StreetView-1.jpg
It's a bit more wobbly than it's supposed to be but that's 'cause, well,...it's bloody hard
If you do want to do something like that and aren't able to figure it out from the tutorial you can pm me and I'll try to do some screen shots or a little video of what I did with the above.
I just discovered that I love making videos!! I just need to figure out how to upload the higher res ones with music and I'll be fine ;)
