View Full Version : How can a sim probe a hidden trap?

I just started a new game, finding that the places where the traps are hidden are not selectable. Hovering the mouse over it does not spawn the options. Now I have to put my poor sim into trap to spawn it...
Some requirements I haven't met?

I hate that. I don't do a whole lot of tomb delving, but it annoyed me to no end in my recent legacy when I went after pangu's axe and found that every single trap in the damn place was conveniently marked, but unable to be navigated around and could not be detected without stepping on it. Hence, defeating the entire purpose of marking up the floor in the first place, unless the entire purpose was to induce rage in the player. Then they succeeded! I hope there's something really obvious that I've just missed.

Strange, I've never stepped into a trap for other reasons than mere stupidity on my part, like sending two Sims through a door simultaneously. Whenever you let the mouse wander over the floor or a wall, the pointer should change into that cogwheel, indicating something to investigate or act upon. Or is trap detection something like in D&D, a skill that will improve over time?

That's really weird. I definitely didn't get an inspect or investigate option like I do with the secret doors. Maybe a mod was blocking it for some reason...I'll have to head back out to a vacation hood now that I have a cleaner game after late night and try again.
