View Full Version : Making Late Night Fun?

I've just installed Late Night, and it's just no fun at all. If I play in Bridgeport... well, Bridgeport is simply a hideous town to me, and the time it takes to go up and down those blasted elevators drives me crazy, among many other things.

If I play in Sunset Valley, there are no new buildings for my sims to hang out in! And unless I'm missing something, there is no way to add lots to the town to make room for more buildings. (I've filled up most of the empty lots with new houses).

Is there a custom built world that combines the best of both worlds (ha!) that I can download? I tried using Create a World ages ago, but mine is really buggy and unusable. Or any other tips to make it more fun to play? Anyone else having the same issues?

Thanks in advance!

That's beautiful and lovely and perfect in every way! I'll get back to you when I've played it more thoroughly. THANK YOU!

I love the City look of Bridgeport but I have to say that el fiel did a lovely job on editing Sunset Valley to combine the LN features. Looks very nice.

All i do is add a couple of clubs or bars into my neighbourhood and they have a place to go late at night. Celebrities and vampires randomly appear, so its not making the game any less exciting. Late Night is probably one of my favourite expansion packs in the Sims 3 to date. BUT i am looking forward to a take on the Sims 2: University which is my favourite expansion pack from that series.

I also prefer Sunset Valley with added clubs over Bridgeport. The elevators in Bridgeport were the main reason for me to use Sunset Valley and use clubs without elevators.
Another thing that might help are mods for longer club opening hours and longer parties. This made them a lot more enjoyable for me.

I also simply edit Sunset Valley to have clubs and whatnot. I made about 4 clubs in my version and they're always very busy since people don't get stuck in elevators, and celebrities actually show up since their houses aren't so far away.

GAH! I hate it when my sims decide to ride the elevator down to the ground floor of thier apartments just to swim/drink. Its extremely annoying.
And yea, I love it when you get an oppurtunity late in the night, and when you go to do what the oppurtunity says (order drink at blah blah club) you are just in the nick of time, BUT AS SOON AS YOU GET OFF THAT darn ELEVATOR... "You gotsta leave! We iz dah closed!" :| :|

I am so glad I found this thread! I've been AWAY from the Sims 3 -utterly and completely-- since before Christmas. Yet, when I've tried to play this week, the elevator lag, and *especially* the uber-commuting in Bridgeport has soured me on the WHOLE town.

Thank you, thank you, thank you ALL for this!

I agree. I use the 9.00am-7.00am one and love it. The EA default closing times just don't work for me. :)

One thing that odds me is how many have problems with elevators, mainly how slow they are. In my game they work fine. Sim goes in, I count to three and she's up in the club. I wonder what might be causing the lag for others.

I was getting the elevator lag in Bridgeport but now that I'm in Riverview elevators are just fine for me.

But for my game I just took some apartments and clubs and plopped them into Riverview and its actually pretty fun. Sure Riverview is more of an agricultural area, but I've been slowly developing an urban "downtown" area for my Sims. So its coming together.

As for mods, I'm using longer club hours, twallans relativity, and longer parties to name a few. Personally I think bands are an awesome addition to the game, it sucks about the lack of gigs though. But if I need one I'll just spawn one with mastercontroller and I'm good to go :P

For me, they work fine in Bridgeport too. Still, I'm slowly getting bored because all the celebs have died and there's nothing new. I'm thinking of moving my simmies into Twinbrook or a custom neighborhood.

I was also using the club hours mod but after the latest patch, it doesn't work anymore. Have to be patient, I guess. :)

I play a version of Sunset Valley with a few bars and Dance Clubs. The down is smaller aswell. I also use a mod so there are more townies on the community lots. Also, My sim is the only 5 star celeb. A few 1-2 Star celebs have spawned aswell. Also a few vampires have turned up aswell. All round, playing a sunset valley world with the LN installed is all round better!

I too have made a few changes in Riverview. The only thing i dislike is a never have more than 5 sims visiting my clubs etc.
Is there some way to get more sims to the clubs?

Take the Late Night out of Bridgeport. As much as I loved the different city atmosphere, my computer is not fast enough to handle it. I'm working on downsizing the whole neighborhood, but it'll take ages.

Personally, I get sick of the celebrities. It's my least favorite part of Late Night, so to get the best out of LN I've dropped a sports bar, a dive bar and a dance club into Twinbrook(keeping in theme with the swampy atmosphere) and downloaded the mods for different hours.

I don't bother with the vampire lounges, even though I have vampires... I don't get vampires in them! Does this happen to anyone else?

You can add lots, actually, but the problem in every neighborhood but Sunset Valley and Riverview(to an extent) is the lack of flat areas. I just move my rural houses to added lots, move my suburban houses to where those houses used to be, then expand the area for community lots. Requires a lot of shuffling around, which is a pain in the butt!

So I guess it requires a great deal of customization to get the most out of Late Night... but I would have done it anyways, so... :wtf:
