Pattern rotation values

Does anyone know how the value for rotation of a pattern is used? I can see it's a float type data field, but not sure if it is expecting a number of degrees, or -1 to +1 to indicate the full circle, or what? Please don't say it's in Eulers or quaternions :(

I have tested with a wallpaper. Is a number of degrees, but gen clock. 45 is 10:30 --> 215 degrees. 90 --> 270. 135 --> 225 degrees.

Thank you Heli. Do you happen to know if negative numbers are acceptable? To turn clockwise?

I tested -45 for pattern rotation. The pattern is 45 degrees ( right rotated) on a wall. I only looked for CWAL not OBJD. It seams 45 ist left rotation, -45 right rotation.
