Is it possible to use elevators in a building where you've used the CFE cheat?
I have a building where I used the CFE cheat twice - to make the ground floor about 2x taller, and then to make the next floor REALLY tall (to fake a skyscraper look). I have a couple of normal height floors at the very top.
I placed an elevator but my sims seem not to be able to use it. There's nothing blocking the elevator; the building's completely empty except for the walls and floors.
What could be wrong?

It should work, I've made the elevators work with a foundation level.
Make sure the footprints of the elevators are aligned correctly, and if the lot is an apartment lot then you'll need to have a public room marker in the elevator shaft.
What do the sims do when you queue them to use the elevator? Routefail, or just cancel the action?

Hmmm. If it's worked for other people, I'll keep playing with it and see if I can figure it out.
They routefail. Right now it's a community lot, and it's basically empty except for the doors to get inside, the walls, and the elevator. I checked and the elevators are aligned. I couldn't think of what else could be the problem other than the CFE cheat, but maybe it's something weird with the lot.

Is there a floor laid outside the upstairs elevator door?

Yep, there's floor for the sims to walk on.

Did you use CFE before or after you put the stretched sections of elevator shafts in ?
For elevators to work I think shaft peices must be placed after the building has been stretched. This could be your problem. Pictures of you elevator would make it much easier to locate the issue.

I bulldozed the lot and rebuilt it (not too much of a hassle because the building was just a shell), and now the elevator works. So I don't know what the original problem was, but at least I can use elevators in a CFE building.
Thanks for the suggestions, though! I'll keep those in mind next time something goes wacky.

I'm glad you got it fixed!
