Thanks to cmomoney, Inge Jones, pljones, Armiel and Porph, I finally have my very first Sims 3 object ready!

This is a Muurame moduli storage unit called iso kolmonen (Big Three), and it is a part of a bigger modular storage unit series. You can find this in end tables.
I tried to update everything from slots to shadows, but I would love someone more experienced to test this one before I make rest of the modules. So please test and comment!
EDIT: I removed the package since the huge horizontal shadow that you see in the image was coming along this object. I'll put it back after I fix it.

Sleek and modern! I like it!
Are there any actual storage capabilities with this object?

There was a test version a month or so ago that produced that exact kind of shadow problem. If it is what that picture makes it look like you should be able to fix by getting the latest version and just running it through with a new clone. :)
Also there is a creator feedback forum for this kind of post here http://www.modthesims.info/fd.php?f=473

Thanks for moving this to the correct area.
jje1000, thanks. No real storage capabilities here, it's just an end table.
orangemittens, thanks for the comment. I used Blender Tools, S3PE and TSRW to create this. I cloned the objects with TSRW and then exported to .package and switched meshes with S3PE. The high and low level shadows are generated by TSRW.
The horizontal shadow that continues through the object and through the wall seems to be everywhere in my cc-test game, even outside, and affects all objects. I'll need to check if there is similar in my main game, but I did not have time to do that yesterday as I have quite a lot of custom content and loading the game takes quite a while.
Is that the odd shadow that you meant or is there something else still?
I used S3PE 11-0828-0954.

I used S3PE 11-0828-0954.The test version you're using is the one that had the shadow issue. Peter issued a new .ModelResources.dll to fix it. Did you update your test version with that?...if not you can get it here: http://dino.drealm.info/den/denforum/index.php?topic=469

Oh, OMG, the huge horizontal shadow really was coming along with my object. I just loaded the item to my main game and as soon as I put the object in, the shadow appears.
Thanks for helping me out. I am going to take out the download in the first post and fix my object.

Thanks for helping me out. I am going to take out the download in the first post and fix my object.NP :) Shortly after I posted this to you this morning Peter updated the s3pe test version to incorporate the new .dll's you need into s3pe itself. If you download that version you shouldn't need to get the .dlls and install them yourself. If you do get that version though keep your eye on the test thread for bug reports...and report any you notice yourself. :)
Also, I'm curious about why you're cloning with TSRW if you're planning on using s3pe anyway. I've never used that tool but it seems like it might be easier to just use s3oc to clone with.
The storage unit is really cute by the way...and the mapping on it looks great.

Well, I am a total newbie and TSRW is quite easy to use. I let TSRW calculate the shadows and moving and adding slots with it is really easy. But I want to work with Blender and TSWR does not support s3m2b format that the Blender Tools require. And it also adds some extra stuff to the package that I can remove with S3PE.
I tried first cloning with s3oc, but ended up having to create the TSRW project anyway, as TSRW open package function does not work (But import works). Working this way I hopefully get something done and can learn about the more complex stuff later.
This storage unit is a real-life object (check out www.muurame.com ), but simple enough to model as a first work. But the mapping is a pain-in-the-*ss. The mapping in the picture looks ok, but in game the texture is a bit stretched. When I went to correct it, I run into this bug again: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=453214
So it may take a while before this gets back to testing...

Great looking object!
Just out of curiosity, what have I done to help? ^^ (Suppose it has slipped my mind)

heh, just thought to mention that Porph is just a chat nick our lovely Morphead uses at times ;)

Thanks! I am planning to do at least isokolmonen (big 3-drawer), isokakkonen big 2-drawer), kakkonen (2-drawer), kolmonen (3-drawer) and basic tables of this set. I was also planning for the shelves and MUP modules (half size modules), but maybe that will be another set.
In the chat, Armiel. You helped me find Porph, who I was then able to ask about my Blender related problems. Not a big thing, but your attitude and friendliness made my day.
Now that BloomsBase helped me find out what was wrong with my UV maps I was able to really get going. I just wish I would have more time to use for this. I started to redo the units (mapping) once again (BB fixed my maps for 2-drawer, but I want to do all mapping myself), and also made them stackable like they are in the real life. 3-drawer is almost ready and looking great now, but I still want to tweak the multiplier and shadows a bit (and maybe remap them once more).
So it will still take a while before I'll put them out again.
