I need help, lol.

How can I explain this without sounding like a total noob? First, the detail and graphics in the Sims has always been beautiful and awesome with almost every option on high for several months now, however, about a month ago details such as the grass, the sims themselves, and several patterns and objects has gone to mush. My father and I have ruled out the possibility of it being my graphics card by updating the drivers, etc.

I'm not entirely sure where to go about fixing my problem. As I said, one day my graphics for the game was as awesome as ever, and then the next day the details and graphics went *fart noise*.

Well, just because you updated the drivers doesn't mean it's not the graphics - especially if you have a crappy graphics card (but even sometimes if you don't), as they wear out over time you can start experiencing degrading graphics quality.
