What's up with the carpool/taxi drivers?

They all seem to be the same sim, which is actually kinda creepy O.O Are they even Sims?

Weird. Mine always seem to be the same female sim with the blue hoodie. She actually looks a lot like Justine Keaton, but the same sim shows up in Riverview, so it's clearly not her. I'm wondering if the drivers aren't real Sims, but merely part of the car?

well i have had male and female drivers.... and like i said...some are from around town...i hover over them and see who the are....

I've never looked at the drivers too closely. Maybe I should, now that I know this. I always just assumed they were in-game objects that serve a purpose and really have no other information. Next time I play I'll take a closer look.

I always seem to get the same few sims, I never see them anywhere else in my towns though, and I play in a couple of different towns mainly but have tried all of them out. I always just assumed they were generated by the game to forever carpool our sims around!

The game just drafts random NPC sims for these tasks, meaning types like totally random orange-haired, black skinned, blue eyed dudes with socks combined with flip-flops and a hat to top it all... but also the game may draft NPC sims from the household library, which is quite irritating when you see a clone of a sim you just made being also the new tattoo artist in the town. :P

Then also, the world files may include sims pre-assigned for NPC duties. I think this is the case with some NPCs in Bridgeport and Appaloosa, as the Paparazzi I've seen in Appaloosa was looking really swag in a full cowboy look.

Yes, I have noticed a lot of cowboys in Appaloosa, far more than the other worlds.

...I am getting sick of it :rolleyes:.

Yeah, they really went full on with the western theme with some aspects. :D But it's still MUCH better than those godawful completely randomly generated messes that usually run around the worlds lol.
