I have been playing The Sims sinse The Sims 1, but I am just now starting to get into the game. I mean, I just found out about Twallan's mods three months ago. I played the Sims 2 and never knew about Custom Content. And then one day I was watching a friend play and saw all the stuff that she had on her game and...wala!
So...my question is about the cache files.
DCCache and IGACache. What are these two files? And can I delete them? Please help.
Thanks.

DCCache is all of your CC installed a la sims3pack, do not delete this one. DCBackup is a backup of your CC installed a la sims3pack, you can delete this one but if you go to share a sim or lot any CC used will not be included with it, which to many is a good thing. IGACache is from the EA marketing tool installed, you can delete it but it will remake itself everytime you start up a new game.

If you're new to Sims, our wiki is a great source of info. This page Game Help:TS3 User Folders Explained has all the stuff explained.

Thanks for the info, guys. Someone told me that I could delete ALL of the cache files. Something told me to get a second opinion. Glad I did.
Thanks again.

The person that said you can delete ALL the cache files was exaggerating. There are some you can delete, and in some cases need to to fix game problems but others like those mentioned above you should not.
The CASpart cache, compositor cache, Scriptcache, and Simcompositor cache do need to be deleted sometimes to fix game problems. Plus, you need to delete the Script cache to get new mods to work in your game.
