for a reason unknown to me (yes I have no idea how it happened) my maxis sim skins
all went from 1024X1024 (/512X512) to 1X1 pixel

I just know it happened because afterward I just extracted one of them to check it out
with the make genetics option from bodyshop

and before you ask, no I did not do any 'replace standard skin' stuff with that program

resulting in everything that is made with them went black and as a result the clothes they
wear went black too
this is F*#$%@ my game up in so many ways,
the only townie/npc I still can recognize is the paperboy his cap is still yellow
and some of my own sims are no longer as they should be

lucky for me I had a full skin set to make the skins for my avatar kids
but I can't figure out what the "tan" and "negro" colors are and how to place the 4 of them in back the game for 'townie use'
(I do have the lighter one near correct and the standard white-guy skin)

so,is there a way to restore this without having to re-install the complete game?
as in, is there a package file to repair this?

Are you talking about default replacements or the original EAxis skins? If it's the latter you might be able to cure it by replacing the objects.package.

yes, I talk about that last one
I really need that original skin set back in the game

as you can see from the picture those 3 townies ave lost the color
and one of them (who has not yet been on my lot)still has her color in the avatar
the little girl with the blue eyes is made with a custom skin so she has no problems

thanks for setting me on the right search......................

- I found the objects.package file on my basegame and in my EPs
looked up the one in the basegame, university and the garden and mansion stuff all are diffrent sized
on this search I also found a file skins.pakage in the basegame
so now one question remains which one is damaged (I can't tell) and how do I replace it ?

- Did not find it on the cd (I wouldn't know where to look for it)

but then again you mentioned the default replace thing
I found a file that does that and it worked

so thanks for mentioning that
